1 For the leader; a psalm with stringed instruments. A song of Asaph.	1 Ao mestre de canto. Com instrumentos de corda. Salmo de Asaf. Cântico. Deus se fez conhecer em Judá, seu nome é grande em Israel.
2 Renowned in Judah is God, whose name is great in Israel.	2 Em Jerusalém está seu tabernáculo, e em Sião a sua morada.
3 On Salem is God's tent, a shelter on Zion.	3 Lá ele quebrou as fulminantes flechas do arco, os escudos, as espadas e todas as armas.
4 There the flashing arrows were shattered, shield, sword, and weapons of war. Selah	4 O esplendor luminoso de vosso poder manifestou-se do alto das eternas montanhas.
5 Terrible and awesome are you, stronger than the ancient mountains.	5 Foram despojados os guerreiros ousados, eles dormem tranqüilos seu último sono. Os valentes sentiram fraquejar suas mãos.
6 Despoiled are the bold warriors; they sleep their final sleep; the hands of all the mighty have failed.	6 Só com a vossa ameaça, ó Deus de Jacó, ficaram inertes carros e cavalos.
7 At your roar, O God of Jacob, chariots and steeds lay still.	7 Terrível sois, quem vos poderá resistir, diante do furor de vossa cólera?
8 So terrible and awesome are you; who can stand before you and your great anger?	8 Do alto do céu proclamastes a sentença; calou-se a terra de tanto pavor,
9 From the heavens you pronounced sentence; the earth was terrified and reduced to silence,	9 quando Deus se levantou para pronunciar a sentença de libertação em favor dos oprimidos da terra.
10 When you arose, O God, for judgment to deliver the afflicted of the land. Selah	10 Pois o furor de Edom vos glorificará e os sobreviventes de Emat vos festejarão.
11 Even wrathful Edom praises you; the remnant of Hamath keeps your feast.	11 Fazei votos ao Senhor vosso Deus e cumpri-os. Todos os que o cercam tragam oferendas ao Deus temível,
12 Make and keep vows to the LORD your God. May all present bring gifts to this awesome God,	12 a ele que abate o orgulho dos grandes e que é temido pelos reis da terra.
13 Who checks the pride of princes, inspires awe among the kings of earth.
