3 O God, you rejected us, broke our defenses; you were angry but now revive us.	3 Gott, du hast uns verworfen, zerschlagen; du hast gezürnt, nun stelle uns wieder her!
4 You rocked the earth, split it open; repair the cracks for it totters.	4 Du hast die Erde erschüttert, gespalten; heile ihre Risse, denn sie wankt!
5 You made your people go through hardship, made us stagger from the wine you gave us.	5 Du hast deinem Volke Hartes erwiesen, mit Taumelwein uns getränkt.
6 Raise up a flag for those who revere you, a refuge for them out of bow shot. Selah	6 Deinen Frommen hast du ein Zeichen gegeben, sie sollten fliehen vor dem Bogen. [Zwischenspiel]
7 Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.	7 Damit deinen Lieblingen Rettung werde, hilf mit deiner Rechten, erhöre uns!
8 In the sanctuary God promised: "I will exult, will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.	8 Gott hat bei seiner Heiligkeit versprochen: "Frohlockend will ich Sichem verteilen und das Tal von Sukkot vermessen!
9 Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.	9 Mein ist Gilead, und mein ist Manasse! Ephraim ist meines Hauptes Schutz, Juda mein Herrscherstab.
10 Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal. I will triumph over Philistia."	10 Mein Waschbecken ist Moab, auf Edom setze ich meinen Schuh, über Philistäa will ich triumphieren!"
11 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?	11 Wer bringt mich zur befestigten Stadt, wer geleitet mich nach Edom?
12 Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?	12 Hast nicht du, o Gott, uns verworfen und bist nicht ausgezogen, o Gott, mit unseren Heeren?
13 Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.	13 Gewähre uns Beistand vor dem Feind; denn nichtig ist menschliche Hilfe!
14 We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.	14 Mit Gott entfalten wir Kraft. Er ist es, der unsere Gegner zertritt.
