³ O God, you rejected us, broke our defenses; you were angry but now revive us.	³ Gott, du hast uns verworfen, zerschlagen; du hast gezürnt, nun stelle uns wieder her!
⁴ You rocked the earth, split it open; repair the cracks for it totters.	⁴ Du hast die Erde erschüttert, gespalten; heile ihre Risse, denn sie wankt!
⁵ You made your people go through hardship, made us stagger from the wine you gave us.	⁵ Du hast deinem Volke Hartes erwiesen, mit Taumelwein uns getränkt.
⁶ Raise up a flag for those who revere you, a refuge for them out of bow shot. Selah	⁶ Deinen Frommen hast du ein Zeichen gegeben, sie sollten fliehen vor dem Bogen. [Zwischenspiel]
⁷ Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.	⁷ Damit deinen Lieblingen Rettung werde, hilf mit deiner Rechten, erhöre uns!
⁸ In the sanctuary God promised: "I will exult, will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.	⁸ Gott hat bei seiner Heiligkeit versprochen: "Frohlockend will ich Sichem verteilen und das Tal von Sukkot vermessen!
⁹ Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.	⁹ Mein ist Gilead, und mein ist Manasse! Ephraim ist meines Hauptes Schutz, Juda mein Herrscherstab.
¹⁰ Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal. I will triumph over Philistia."	¹⁰ Mein Waschbecken ist Moab, auf Edom setze ich meinen Schuh, über Philistäa will ich triumphieren!"
¹¹ Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?	¹¹ Wer bringt mich zur befestigten Stadt, wer geleitet mich nach Edom?
¹² Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?	¹² Hast nicht du, o Gott, uns verworfen und bist nicht ausgezogen, o Gott, mit unseren Heeren?
¹³ Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.	¹³ Gewähre uns Beistand vor dem Feind; denn nichtig ist menschliche Hilfe!
¹⁴ We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.	¹⁴ Mit Gott entfalten wir Kraft. Er ist es, der unsere Gegner zertritt.
