2 when he fought against Aram-Naharaim and Aram-Zobah; and Joab, coming back, killed twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.	2 Quando combatteva contro Aram Nacaraim e Aram Soba, e tornò Ioab e percosse Edom nella Valle delle saline: dodicimila (soldati nemici uccisi).
3 O God, you rejected us, broke our defenses; you were angry but now revive us.	3 O Dio, ci hai rigettati, ci hai dispersi, ti sei sdegnato; ma ora liberaci di nuovo!
4 You rocked the earth, split it open; repair the cracks for it totters.	4 Hai scosso la terra, l'hai dilaniata: guarisci le sue ferite, perché vacilla.
5 You made your people go through hardship, made us stagger from the wine you gave us.	5 Cose dure hai fatto sperimentare al tuo popolo, ci hai dato a bere vino da vertigini.
6 Raise up a flag for those who revere you, a refuge for them out of bow shot. Selah	6 Hai concesso un vessillo a quelli che ti temono affinché possano fuggire dinanzi all'arco.
7 Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.	7 Affinché siano salvi i tuoi diletti, porta salvezza con la tua destra ed esaudiscici.
8 In the sanctuary God promised: "I will exult, will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.	8 Dio parla nel suo santuario: "Esulterò e spartirò Sichem, dividerò la valle di Succot.
9 Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter.	9 Mio è Gàlaad e mio è Manasse, Efraim è l'elmo del mio capo, Giuda è il mio scettro,
10 Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal. I will triumph over Philistia."	10 Moab il catino del mio lavacro, su Edom getto via il mio calzare, sulla Filistea io voglio esultare".
11 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?	11 Chi vorrà portarmi nella città munita? Chi vorrà guidarmi fino a Edom?
12 Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?	12 Non sei stato forse tu, o Dio, a rigettarci? E non esci più, o Dio, alla testa delle nostre schiere?
13 Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.	13 Dacci il tuo aiuto contro l'avversario, vana è infatti la vittoria dell'uomo.
14 We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.	14 In Dio faremo prodigi, sarà lui a calpestare i nostri avversari.
