1 For the leader; with wind instruments. A psalm of David.	1 (Per la fine per colei che ottiene l'eredità. Salmo di David).
2 Hear my words, O LORD; listen to my sighing.	2 Porgi l'orecchio alle mie parole, o Signore, ascolta il mio grido.
3 Hear my cry for help, my king, my God! To you I pray, O LORD;	3 Piegati al suono della mia preghiera, o mio re e mio Dio.
4 at dawn you will hear my cry; at dawn I will plead before you and wait.	4 E' a te che innalzo la mia pre­ghiera; Signore, al mattino tu ascolti la mia voce.
5 You are not a god who delights in evil; no wicked person finds refuge with you;	5 Al mattino sto davanti a te, e guardo, chè tu non sei un Dio a cui piaccia l'iniquità.
6 the arrogant cannot stand before you. You hate all who do evil;	6 Chè non sta presso di te il maligno, nè gl'ingiusti posson reggere alla tua presenza.
7 you destroy all who speak falsely. Murderers and deceivers the LORD abhors.	7 Tu hai in odio tutti quelli che fanno il male, tu mandi in rovina tutti i menzogneri. Il Signore ha in abbominio l'uomo sanguinario e fraudolento.
8 But I can enter your house because of your great love. I can worship in your holy temple because of my reverence for you, LORD.	8 Io però, per la tua gran misericordia, entro nella tua casa, mi prostro nel tuo santo tempio colla riverenza a te dovuta.
9 Guide me in your justice because of my foes; make straight your way before me.	9 Signore, guidami nella tua giustizia, per riguardo ai miei nemici, rendi diritta dinanzi a te la mia via.
10 For there is no sincerity in their mouths; their hearts are corrupt. Their throats are open graves; on their tongues are subtle lies.	10 Perchè sulla loro bocca non c'è sincerità, il loro cuore è un abisso.
11 Declare them guilty, God; make them fall by their own devices. Drive them out for their many sins; they have rebelled against you.	11 La loro gola è un sepolcro aperto, colle loro lingue van tessendo inganni. Condannali, o Dio. Sian delusi nei loro disegni, per tanta loro empietà disperdili, perchè ti hanno irritato, o Signore.
12 Then all who take refuge in you will be glad and forever shout for joy. Protect them that you may be the joy of those who love your name.	12 E si rallegrino tutti quelli che sperano in te. Essi giubilino in eterno, e tu abita in loro; e in te si gloriino tutti quelli che amano il tuo nome.
13 For you, LORD, bless the just; you surround them with favor like a shield.	13 Perché tu benedici il giusto. O Signore, tu ci copri colla tua grazia come con uno scudo.
