NEW AMERICAN BIBLENOVA VULGATA
1 A psalm. A song for the dedication of the temple. Of David.1 Psalmus. Canticum festi Dedicationis Templi. David.
2 I praise you, LORD, for you raised me up and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.2 Exaltabo te, Domine, quoniam extraxisti me
nec delectasti inimicos meos super me.
3 O LORD, my God, I cried out to you and you healed me.3 Domine Deus meus, clamavi ad te, et sanasti me.
4 LORD, you brought me up from Sheol; you kept me from going down to the pit.4 Domine, eduxisti ab inferno animam meam,
vivificasti me, ut non descenderem in lacum.
5 Sing praise to the LORD, you faithful; give thanks to God's holy name.5 Psallite Domino, sancti eius,
et confitemini memoriae sanctitatis eius,
6 For divine anger lasts but a moment; divine favor lasts a lifetime. At dusk weeping comes for the night; but at dawn there is rejoicing.6 quoniam ad momentum indignatio eius,
et per vitam voluntas eius.
Ad vesperum demoratur fletus,
ad matutinum laetitia.
7 Complacent, I once said, "I shall never be shaken."7 Ego autem dixi in securitate mea:
“ Non movebor in aeternum ”.
8 LORD, when you showed me favor I stood like the mighty mountains. But when you hid your face I was struck with terror.8 Domine, in voluntate tua
praestitisti decori meo virtutem;
avertisti faciem tuam a me,
et factus sum conturbatus.
9 To you, LORD, I cried out; with the Lord I pleaded for mercy:9 Ad te, Domine, clamabam
et ad Deum meum deprecabar.
10 "What gain is there from my lifeblood, from my going down to the grave? Does dust give you thanks or declare your faithfulness?10 Quae utilitas in sanguine meo,
dum descendo in corruptionem?
Numquid confitebitur tibi pulvis
aut annuntiabit veritatem tuam?
11 Hear, O LORD, have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper."11 Audivit Dominus et misertus est mei,
Dominus factus est adiutor meus.
12 You changed my mourning into dancing; you took off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.12 Convertisti planctum meum in choros mihi,
conscidisti saccum meum et accinxisti me laetitia,
13 With my whole being I sing endless praise to you. O LORD, my God, forever will I give you thanks.13 ut cantet tibi gloria mea et non taceat.
Domine Deus meus, in aeternum confitebor tibi.
