2 I praise you, LORD, for you raised me up and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.	2 Ti esalterò, Signore, perché mi hai risollevato,non hai permesso ai miei nemici di gioire su di me.
3 O LORD, my God, I cried out to you and you healed me.	3 Signore, mio Dio,a te ho gridato e mi hai guarito.
4 LORD, you brought me up from Sheol; you kept me from going down to the pit.	4 Signore, hai fatto risalire la mia vita dagli inferi,mi hai fatto rivivere perché non scendessi nella fossa.
5 Sing praise to the LORD, you faithful; give thanks to God's holy name.	5 Cantate inni al Signore, o suoi fedeli,della sua santità celebrate il ricordo,
6 For divine anger lasts but a moment; divine favor lasts a lifetime. At dusk weeping comes for the night; but at dawn there is rejoicing.	6 perché la sua collera dura un istante,la sua bontà per tutta la vita.Alla sera ospite è il piantoe al mattino la gioia.
7 Complacent, I once said, "I shall never be shaken."	7 Ho detto, nella mia sicurezza:«Mai potrò vacillare!».
8 LORD, when you showed me favor I stood like the mighty mountains. But when you hid your face I was struck with terror.	8 Nella tua bontà, o Signore,mi avevi posto sul mio monte sicuro;il tuo volto hai nascostoe lo spavento mi ha preso.
9 To you, LORD, I cried out; with the Lord I pleaded for mercy:	9 A te grido, Signore,al Signore chiedo pietà:
10 "What gain is there from my lifeblood, from my going down to the grave? Does dust give you thanks or declare your faithfulness?	10 «Quale guadagno dalla mia morte,dalla mia discesa nella fossa?Potrà ringraziarti la polveree proclamare la tua fedeltà?
11 Hear, O LORD, have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper."	11 Ascolta, Signore, abbi pietà di me,Signore, vieni in mio aiuto!».
12 You changed my mourning into dancing; you took off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.	12 Hai mutato il mio lamento in danza,mi hai tolto l’abito di sacco,mi hai rivestito di gioia,
13 With my whole being I sing endless praise to you. O LORD, my God, forever will I give you thanks.	13 perché ti canti il mio cuore, senza tacere;Signore, mio Dio, ti renderò grazie per sempre.
