Psalms 115

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name give glory because of your faithfulness and love.	1 Non pas à nous, Yahvé, non pas à nous, mais à ton nom rapporte la gloire, pour ton amour et pourta vérité!
2 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?"	2 Que les païens ne disent: "Où est leur Dieu?"
3 Our God is in heaven; whatever God wills is done.	3 Notre Dieu, il est dans les cieux, tout ce qui lui plaît, il le fait.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands.	4 Leurs idoles, or et argent, une oeuvre de main d'homme!
5 They have mouths but do not speak, eyes but do not see.	5 Elles ont une bouche et ne parlent pas, elles ont des yeux et ne voient pas,
6 They have ears but do not hear, noses but do not smell.	6 elles ont des oreilles et n'entendent pas, elles ont un nez et ne sentent pas.
7 They have hands but do not feel, feet but do not walk, and no sound rises from their throats.	7 Leurs mains, mais elles ne touchent point, leurs pieds, mais ils ne marchent point, de leur gosier,pas un murmure!
8 Their makers shall be like them, all who trust in them.	8 Comme elles, seront ceux qui les firent, quiconque met en elles sa foi.
9 The house of Israel trusts in the LORD, who is their help and shield.	9 Maison d'Israël, mets ta foi en Yahvé, lui, leur secours et bouclier!
10 The house of Aaron trusts in the LORD, who is their help and shield.	10 Maison d'Aaron, mets ta foi en Yahvé, lui, leur secours et bouclier!
11 Those who fear the LORD trust in the LORD, who is their help and shield.	11 Ceux qui craignent Yahvé, ayez foi en Yahvé, lui, leur secours et bouclier!
12 The LORD remembers us and will bless us, will bless the house of Israel, will bless the house of Aaron,	12 Yahvé se souvient de nous, il bénira, il bénira la maison d'Israël, il bénira la maison d'Aaron,
13 Will bless those who fear the LORD, small and great alike.	13 il bénira ceux qui craignent Yahvé, les petits avec les grands.
14 May the LORD increase your number, you and your descendants.	14 Que Yahvé vous fasse croître, vous et vos enfants!
15 May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth.	15 Bénis soyez-vous de Yahvé qui a fait le ciel et la terre!
16 The heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth is given to us.	16 Le ciel, c'est le ciel de Yahvé, la terre, il l'a donnée aux fils d'Adam.
17 The dead do not praise the LORD, all those gone down into silence.	17 Non, les morts ne louent point Yahvé, ni tous ceux qui descendent au Silence;
18 It is we who bless the LORD, both now and forever. Hallelujah!	18 mais nous, les vivants, nous bénissons Yahvé dès maintenant et à jamais.
