NEW AMERICAN BIBLEVULGATA
1 Bless the LORD, my soul! LORD, my God, you are great indeed! You are clothed with majesty and glory,1 Alleluja. Confitemini Domino, et invocate nomen ejus ;
annuntiate inter gentes opera ejus.
2 robed in light as with a cloak. You spread out the heavens like a tent;2 Cantate ei, et psallite ei ;
narrate omnia mirabilia ejus.
3 you raised your palace upon the waters. You make the clouds your chariot; you travel on the wings of the wind.3 Laudamini in nomine sancto ejus ;
lætetur cor quærentium Dominum.
4 You make the winds your messengers; flaming fire, your ministers.4 Quærite Dominum, et confirmamini ;
quærite faciem ejus semper.
5 You fixed the earth on its foundation, never to be moved.5 Mementote mirabilium ejus quæ fecit ;
prodigia ejus, et judicia oris ejus :
6 The ocean covered it like a garment; above the mountains stood the waters.6 semen Abraham servi ejus ;
filii Jacob electi ejus.
7 At your roar they took flight; at the sound of your thunder they fled.7 Ipse Dominus Deus noster ;
in universa terra judicia ejus.
8 They rushed up the mountains, down the valleys to the place you had fixed for them.8 Memor fuit in sæculum testamenti sui ;
verbi quod mandavit in mille generationes :
9 You set a limit they cannot pass; never again will they cover the earth.9 quod disposuit ad Abraham,
et juramenti sui ad Isaac :
10 You made springs flow into channels that wind among the mountains.10 et statuit illud Jacob in præceptum,
et Israël in testamentum æternum,
11 They give drink to every beast of the field; here wild asses quench their thirst.11 dicens : Tibi dabo terram Chanaan,
funiculum hæreditatis vestræ :
12 Beside them the birds of heaven nest; among the branches they sing.12 cum essent numero brevi,
paucissimi, et incolæ ejus.
13 You water the mountains from your palace; by your labor the earth abounds.13 Et pertransierunt de gente in gentem,
et de regno ad populum alterum.
14 You raise grass for the cattle and plants for our beasts of burden. You bring bread from the earth,14 Non reliquit hominem nocere eis :
et corripuit pro eis reges.
15 and wine to gladden our hearts, Oil to make our faces gleam, food to build our strength.15 Nolite tangere christos meos,
et in prophetis meis nolite malignari.
16 The trees of the LORD drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon, which you planted.16 Et vocavit famem super terram,
et omne firmamentum panis contrivit.
17 There the birds build their nests; junipers are the home of the stork.17 Misit ante eos virum :
in servum venumdatus est, Joseph.
18 The high mountains are for wild goats; the rocky cliffs, a refuge for badgers.18 Humiliaverunt in compedibus pedes ejus ;
ferrum pertransiit animam ejus :
19 You made the moon to mark the seasons, the sun that knows the hour of its setting.19 donec veniret verbum ejus.
Eloquium Domini inflammavit eum.
20 You bring darkness and night falls, then all the beasts of the forest roam abroad.20 Misit rex, et solvit eum ;
princeps populorum, et dimisit eum.
21 Young lions roar for prey; they seek their food from God.21 Constituit eum dominum domus suæ,
et principem omnis possessionis suæ :
22 When the sun rises, they steal away and rest in their dens.22 ut erudiret principes ejus sicut semetipsum,
et senes ejus prudentiam doceret.
23 People go forth to their work, to their labor till evening falls.23 Et intravit Israël in Ægyptum,
et Jacob accola fuit in terra Cham.
24 How varied are your works, LORD! In wisdom you have wrought them all; the earth is full of your creatures.24 Et auxit populum suum vehementer,
et firmavit eum super inimicos ejus.
25 Look at the sea, great and wide! It teems with countless beings, living things both large and small.25 Convertit cor eorum, ut odirent populum ejus,
et dolum facerent in servos ejus.
26 Here ships ply their course; here Leviathan, your creature, plays.26 Misit Moysen servum suum ;
Aaron quem elegit ipsum.
27 All of these look to you to give them food in due time.27 Posuit in eis verba signorum suorum,
et prodigiorum in terra Cham.
28 When you give to them, they gather; when you open your hand, they are well filled.28 Misit tenebras, et obscuravit ;
et non exacerbavit sermones suos.
29 When you hide your face, they are lost. When you take away their breath, they perish and return to the dust from which they came.29 Convertit aquas eorum in sanguinem,
et occidit pisces eorum.
30 When you send forth your breath, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.30 Edidit terra eorum ranas
in penetralibus regum ipsorum.
31 May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD be glad in these works!31 Dixit, et venit c?nomyia et ciniphes
in omnibus finibus eorum.
32 If God glares at the earth, it trembles; if God touches the mountains, they smoke!32 Posuit pluvias eorum grandinem :
ignem comburentem in terra ipsorum.
33 I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live.33 Et percussit vineas eorum, et ficulneas eorum,
et contrivit lignum finium eorum.
34 May my theme be pleasing to God; I will rejoice in the LORD.34 Dixit, et venit locusta,
et bruchus cujus non erat numerus :
35 May sinners vanish from the earth, and the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, my soul! Hallelujah!35 et comedit omne f?num in terra eorum,
et comedit omnem fructum terræ eorum.
36 Et percussit omne primogenitum in terra eorum,
primitias omnis laboris eorum.
37 Et eduxit eos cum argento et auro,
et non erat in tribubus eorum infirmus.
38 Lætata est Ægyptus in profectione eorum,
quia incubuit timor eorum super eos.
39 Expandit nubem in protectionem eorum,
et ignem ut luceret eis per noctem.
40 Petierunt, et venit coturnix,
et pane cæli saturavit eos.
41 Dirupit petram, et fluxerunt aquæ :
abierunt in sicco flumina.
42 Quoniam memor fuit verbi sancti sui,
quod habuit ad Abraham puerum suum.
43 Et eduxit populum suum in exsultatione,
et electos suos in lætitia.
44 Et dedit illis regiones gentium,
et labores populorum possederunt :
45 ut custodiant justificationes ejus,
et legem ejus requirant.
