1 Elihu proceeded further and said:	1 Prosiguió Elihú y dijo:
2 Wait yet a little and I will instruct you, for there are still words to be said on God's behalf.	2 Espera un poco, y yo te instruiré, pues todavía hay palabras en favor de Dios.
3 I will bring my knowledge from afar, and to my Maker I will accord the right.	3 Voy a llevar muy lejos mi saber, y daré la razón a mi Hacedor.
4 For indeed, my theme cannot fail me: the one perfect in knowledge I set before you.	4 En verdad, no son mentira mis palabras, un maestro en saber está contigo.
5 Behold, God rejects the obstinate in heart; he preserves not the life of the wicked.	5 Dios no rechaza al hombre íntegro,
6 He withholds not the just man's rights, but grants vindication to the oppressed,	6 ni deja vivir al malvado en plena fuerza. Hace justicia a los pobres,
7 And with kings upon thrones he sets them, exalted forever.	7 y no quita al justo su derecho. El puso a los reyes en el trono, para siempre los asienta, mas se engríen,
8 Or if they are bound with fetters and held fast by bonds of affliction,	8 y él los amarra con cadenas, y quedan presos en los lazos de la angustia.
9 Then he makes known to them what they have done and their sins of boastful pride.	9 Entonces les pone su obra al descubierto y sus culpas nacidas del orgullo.
10 He opens their ears to correction and exhorts them to turn back from evil.	10 A sus oídos pronuncia una advertencia, y manda que se vuelvan de la iniquidad.
11 If they obey and serve him, they spend their days in prosperity, their years in happiness.	11 Si escuchan y son dóciles, acaban sus días en ventura y en delicias sus años.
12 But if they obey not, they perish; they die for lack of knowledge.	12 Si no escuchan, pasan el Canal, y expiran por falta de cordura.
13 The impious in heart lay up anger for themselves; they cry not for help when he enchains them;	13 Y los obstinados que imponen la cólera y no piden auxilio cuando él los encadena,
14 Therefore they expire in youth, and perish among the reprobate.	14 mueren en plena juventud, y su vida en la edad juvenil.
15 But he saves the unfortunate through their affliction, and instructs them through distress.	15 El salva al pobre por su misma pobreza, por la miseria el oído le abre.
	16 También a ti te arrancará de las fauces de la angustia. Antes gozabas de abundancia sin límites, la grasa desbordaba de tu mesa.
	17 Mas no hacías justicia de los malos, defraudabas el derecho del huérfano.
	18 Procura, pues, que no te seduzca la abundancia, ni el copioso soborno te extravíe.
	19 Haz comparecer al rico como al que nada tiene, al débil como al poderoso.
20	20 No aplastes a aquellos que te son extraños, para encumbrar en su puesto a tus parientes.
21 Take heed, turn not to evil; for you have preferred carousal to affliction.	21 Guárdate de inclinarte hacia la iniquidad, que por eso te ha probado la aflicción.
22 Behold, God is sublime in his power. What teacher is there like him?	22 Mira, Dios es sublime por su fuerza, ¿quién es maestro como él?
23 Who prescribes for him his conduct, or who can say, "You have done wrong"?	23 ¿Quién le señaló el camino a seguir? ¿quién le diría: «Has hecho mal»?
24 Remember, you should extol his work, which men have praised in song.	24 Acuérdate más bien de ensalzar su obra, que han cantado los hombres.
25 All men contemplate it; man beholds it from afar.	25 Todo hombre la contempla, el hombre la mira desde lejos.
26 Lo, God is great beyond our knowledge; the number of his years is past searching out.	26 Sí, Dios es grande y no le comprendemos, el número de sus años es incalculable.
27 He holds in check the waterdrops that filter in rain through his mists,	27 El atrae las gotas de agua, pulveriza la lluvia en su vapor,
28 Till the skies run with them and the showers rain down on mankind.	28 que luego derraman las nubes, la destilan sobre la turba humana.
	29 ¿Quién además comprenderá el despliegue de la nube, los fragores de su tienda?
30 Lo! he spreads the clouds in layers as the carpeting of his tent.	30 Ved que despliega su niebla por encima cubre las cimas de los montes.
31 For by these he nourishes the nations, and gives them food in abundance.	31 Pues por ellas sustenta él a los pueblos, les da alimento en abundancia.
32 In his hands he holds the lightning, and he commands it to strike the mark.	32 En sus manos el rayo levanta y le ordena que alcance su destino.
33 His thunder speaks for him and incites the fury of the storm.	33 Su trueno le anuncia, la ira se inflama contra la iniquidad.
