Luke 19

1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.	1 Dann kam er nach Jericho und ging durch die Stadt.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.	2 Dort wohnte ein Mann namens Zachäus; er war der oberste Zollpächter und war sehr reich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.	3 Er wollte gern sehen, wer dieser Jesus sei, doch die Menschenmenge versperrte ihm die Sicht; denn er war klein.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.	4 Darum lief er voraus und stieg auf einen Maulbeerfeigenbaum, um Jesus zu sehen, der dort vorbeikommen musste.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.	5 Als Jesus an die Stelle kam, schaute er hinauf und sagte zu ihm: Zachäus, komm schnell herunter! Denn ich muss heute in deinem Haus zu Gast sein.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.	6 Da stieg er schnell herunter und nahm Jesus freudig bei sich auf.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.	7 Als die Leute das sahen, empörten sie sich und sagten: Er ist bei einem Sünder eingekehrt.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.	8 Zachäus aber wandte sich an den Herrn und sagte: Herr, die Hälfte meines Vermögens will ich den Armen geben, und wenn ich von jemand zu viel gefordert habe, gebe ich ihm das Vierfache zurück.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.	9 Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Heute ist diesem Haus das Heil geschenkt worden, weil auch dieser Mann ein Sohn Abrahams ist.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.	10 Denn der Menschensohn ist gekommen, um zu suchen und zu retten, was verloren ist.
11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.	11 Weil Jesus schon nahe bei Jerusalem war, meinten die Menschen, die von all dem hörten, das Reich Gottes werde sofort erscheinen. Daher erzählte er ihnen ein weiteres Gleichnis.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.	12 Er sagte: Ein Mann von vornehmer Herkunft wollte in ein fernes Land reisen, um die Königswürde zu erlangen und dann zurückzukehren.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.	13 Er rief zehn seiner Diener zu sich, verteilte unter sie Geld im Wert von zehn Minen und sagte: Macht Geschäfte damit, bis ich wiederkomme.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.	14 Da ihn aber die Einwohner seines Landes hassten, schickten sie eine Gesandtschaft hinter ihm her und ließen sagen: Wir wollen nicht, dass dieser Mann unser König wird.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.	15 Dennoch wurde er als König eingesetzt. Nach seiner Rückkehr ließ er die Diener, denen er das Geld gegeben hatte, zu sich rufen. Er wollte sehen, welchen Gewinn jeder bei seinen Geschäften erzielt hatte.
16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.	16 Der erste kam und sagte: Herr, ich habe mit deiner Mine zehn Minen erwirtschaftet.
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.	17 Da sagte der König zu ihm: Sehr gut, du bist ein tüchtiger Diener. Weil du im Kleinsten zuverlässig warst, sollst du Herr über zehn Städte werden.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.	18 Der zweite kam und sagte: Herr, ich habe mit deiner Mine fünf Minen erwirtschaftet.
19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.	19 Zu ihm sagte der König: Du sollst über fünf Städte herrschen.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:	20 Nun kam ein anderer und sagte: Herr, hier hast du dein Geld zurück. Ich habe es in ein Tuch eingebunden und aufbewahrt;
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.	21 denn ich hatte Angst vor dir, weil du ein strenger Mann bist: Du hebst ab, was du nicht eingezahlt hast, und erntest, was du nicht gesät hast.
22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:	22 Der König antwortete: Aufgrund deiner eigenen Worte spreche ich dir das Urteil. Du bist ein schlechter Diener. Du hast gewusst, dass ich ein strenger Mann bin? Dass ich abhebe, was ich nicht eingezahlt habe, und ernte, was ich nicht gesät habe?
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?	23 Warum hast du dann mein Geld nicht auf die Bank gebracht? Dann hätte ich es bei der Rückkehr mit Zinsen abheben können.
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.	24 Und zu den anderen, die dabeistanden, sagte er: Nehmt ihm das Geld weg, und gebt es dem, der die zehn Minen hat.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)	25 Sie sagten zu ihm: Herr, er hat doch schon zehn.
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.	26 (Da erwiderte er:) Ich sage euch: Wer hat, dem wird gegeben werden; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch noch weggenommen, was er hat.
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.	27 Doch meine Feinde, die nicht wollten, dass ich ihr König werde - bringt sie her und macht sie vor meinen Augen nieder!
28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.	28 Nach dieser Rede zog Jesus weiter und ging nach Jerusalem hinauf.
29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,	29 Als er in die Nähe von Betfage und Betanien kam, an den Berg, der Ölberg heißt, schickte er zwei seiner Jünger voraus
30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.	30 und sagte: Geht in das Dorf, das vor uns liegt. Wenn ihr hineinkommt, werdet ihr dort einen jungen Esel angebunden finden, auf dem noch nie ein Mensch gesessen hat. Bindet ihn los und bringt ihn her!
31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.	31 Und wenn euch jemand fragt: Warum bindet ihr ihn los?, dann antwortet: Der Herr braucht ihn.
32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.	32 Die beiden machten sich auf den Weg und fanden alles so, wie er es ihnen gesagt hatte.
33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?	33 Als sie den jungen Esel losbanden, sagten die Leute, denen er gehörte: Warum bindet ihr den Esel los?
34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.	34 Sie antworteten: Der Herr braucht ihn.
35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.	35 Dann führten sie ihn zu Jesus, legten ihre Kleider auf das Tier und halfen Jesus hinauf.
36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.	36 Während er dahinritt, breiteten die Jünger ihre Kleider auf der Straße aus.
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;	37 Als er an die Stelle kam, wo der Weg vom Ölberg hinabführt, begannen alle Jünger freudig und mit lauter Stimme Gott zu loben wegen all der Wundertaten, die sie erlebt hatten.
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.	38 Sie riefen: Gesegnet sei der König, der kommt im Namen des Herrn. Im Himmel Friede und Herrlichkeit in der Höhe!
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.	39 Da riefen ihm einige Pharisäer aus der Menge zu: Meister, bring deine Jünger zum Schweigen!
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.	40 Er erwiderte: Ich sage euch: Wenn sie schweigen, werden die Steine schreien.
41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,	41 Als er näher kam und die Stadt sah, weinte er über sie
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.	42 und sagte: Wenn doch auch du an diesem Tag erkannt hättest, was dir Frieden bringt. Jetzt aber bleibt es vor deinen Augen verborgen.
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,	43 Es wird eine Zeit für dich kommen, in der deine Feinde rings um dich einen Wall aufwerfen, dich einschließen und von allen Seiten bedrängen.
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.	44 Sie werden dich und deine Kinder zerschmettern und keinen Stein auf dem andern lassen; denn du hast die Zeit der Gnade nicht erkannt.
45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;	45 Dann ging er in den Tempel und begann, die Händler hinauszutreiben.
46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.	46 Er sagte zu ihnen: In der Schrift steht: Mein Haus soll ein Haus des Gebetes sein. Ihr aber habt daraus eine Räuberhöhle gemacht.
47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,	47 Er lehrte täglich im Tempel. Die Hohenpriester, die Schriftgelehrten und die übrigen Führer des Volkes aber suchten ihn umzubringen.
48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.	48 Sie wussten jedoch nicht, wie sie es machen sollten, denn das ganze Volk hing an ihm und hörte ihn gern.
