KING JAMES BIBLEDOUAI-RHEIMS
Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.1 To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out.
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.2 A Hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem.
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.3 O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee.
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.4 The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and thou wilt pardon our transgressions.
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:5 Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house; holy is thy temple,
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:6 wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off.
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.7 Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.8 who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled,
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.9 and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.10 Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it; thou hast many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, thou hast prepared their food: for so is its preparation.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.11 Fill up plentifully the streams thereof, multiply its fruits; it shall spring up and rejoice in its showers.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.12 Thou shalt bless the crown of the year of thy goodness: and thy fields shall be filled with plenty.
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.13 The beautiful places of the wilderness shall grow fat: and the hills shall be girded about with joy,
The rams of the flock are clothed, and the vales shall abound with corn: they shall shout, yea they shall sing a hymn.
