1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.	1 (Per la fine, tra i cantici. Salmo di David, per l'ottava).
2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.	2 O Signore, non mi riprendere nel tuo sdegno, non mi punire nell'ira tua.
3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?	3 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, chè son malato, ridonami la salute, perchè le mie ossa sono sconquassate.
4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.	4 Anche l'anima mia è oltremodo turbata. Ma tu, o Signore, fino a quando...?
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?	5 Volgiti, o Signore, e libera l'anima mia, salvami per la tua misericordia.
6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.	6 Perchè nella morte non v'è chi si ricordi di te. E nel soggiorno dei morti chi ti canterà lodi?
7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.	7 Io sono sfinito dal piangere. Lavo tutte le notti il mio letto, bagno di lacrime il mio giaciglio.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.	8 Il mio occhio è diventato torvo dall'indignazione: sono invecchiato in mezzo a tanti miei nemici.
9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.	9 Lungi da me voi tutti, operatori d'iniquità! perchè il Signore ha sentita la voce del mio pianto.
10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.	10 Il Signore ha esaudita la mia supplica, il Signore ha accolta la mia preghiera.
	11 Si vergognino e sian pieni di spavento tutti i miei nemici, sian volti in fuga e svergognati in un batter d'occhio.
