2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.	2 Signore, nel tuo furore non mi castigare, nell'ira tua non mi punire!
3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?	3 Pietà di me, Signore, perché sono infermo; risanami, Signore, perché sconquassate son le mie ossa.
4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.	4 E l'anima mia è grandemente sconvolta. Ma tu, Signore, fino a quando... ?
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?	5 Volgiti, o Signore, e liberami, salvami per la tua misericordia.
6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.	6 Perché non v'è nella morte chi si ricordi di te, e negli Inferi chi ti renda lode?
7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.	7 Sfinito io sono a cagion del mio genere; bagno [di pianto] ogni notte il mio letto, di lagrime inondo il mio giaciglio;
8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.	8 è turbato per la passione il mio occhio, mi son fatto vecchio fra tanti miei nemici.
9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.	9 Via da me, voi tutti operatori d'iniquità! Perchè ha udito il Signore la voce del mio pianto,
10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.	10 ha udito il Signore la mia supplica, il Signore ha accolto la mia preghiera.
	11 Sian scornati e grandemente atterriti i miei nemici, sian volti in fuga e scornati tutt'a un tratto.
