Psalms 124

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;	1 Cantique des montées. De David. Sans Yahvé qui était pour nous -- à Israël de le dire --
2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:	2 sans Yahvé qui était pour nous quand on sauta sur nous,
3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:	3 alors ils nous avalaient tout vifs dans le feu de leur colère.
4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:	4 Alors les eaux nous submergeaient, le torrent passait sur nous,
5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.	5 alors il passait sur notre âme en eaux écumantes.
6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.	6 Béni Yahvé qui n'a point fait de nous la proie de leurs dents!
7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.	7 Notre âme comme un oiseau s'est échappée du filet de l'oiseleur. Le filet s'est rompu et nous avonséchappé;
8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.	8 notre secours est dans le nom de Yahvé qui a fait le ciel et la terre.
