Psalms 105

1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.	1 Preiset den HERRN, ruft seinen Namen an,macht seine Taten unter den Völkern bekannt!
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.	2 Singt ihm, spielet ihm,redet von all seinen Wundern!
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.	3 Rühmt euch seines heiligen Namens!Es mögen herzlich sich freun, die da suchen den HERRN!
4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.	4 Fragt nach dem HERRN und seiner Stärke (oder: Macht),suchet sein Angesicht allezeit!
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;	5 Gedenkt seiner Wunder, die er getan,seiner Zeichen und der Urteilssprüche seines Mundes,
6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.	6 ihr Kinder Abrahams, seines Knechtes,ihr Söhne Jakobs, seine Erwählten!
7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.	7 Er, der HERR, ist unser Gott, über die ganze Erde ergehen seine Gerichte.
8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.	8 Er gedenkt seines Bundes auf ewig,des Wortes, das er geboten auf tausend Geschlechter,
9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;	9 (des Bundes) den er mit Abraham geschlossen,und des Eides, den er Isaak geschworen,
10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:	10 den für Jakob er als Satzung bestätigtund für Israel als ewigen Bund,
11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:	11 da er sprach: »Dir will ich Kanaan geben,das Land, das ich euch als Erbbesitztum zugeteilt!« (vgl. 1.Mose 15,18)
12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.	12 Damals waren sie noch ein kleines Häuflein,gar wenige und nur Gäste im Lande;
13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;	13 sie mußten wandern von Volk zu Volk,von einem Reich zur andern Völkerschaft;
14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;	14 doch keinem gestattete er, sie zu bedrücken,ja Könige strafte er ihretwillen:
15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.	15 »Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht anund tut meinen Propheten nichts zuleide!«
16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.	16 Dann, als er Hunger ins Land ließ kommenund jegliche Stütze des Brotes zerbrach,
17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:	17 da hatte er schon einen Mann vor ihnen her gesandt:Joseph, der als Sklave verkauft war.
18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:	18 Man hatte seine Füße gezwängt in den Stock,in Eisen(-fesseln) war er gelegt,
19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.	19 bis zu der Zeit, wo seine Weissagung eintrafund der Ausspruch des HERRN ihn als echt erwies.
20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.	20 Da sandte der König und ließ ihn entfesseln,der Völkergebieter, und machte ihn frei;
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:	21 er bestellte ihn über sein Haus zum Herrn,zum Gebieter über sein ganzes Besitztum;
22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.	22 er sollte über seine Fürsten schalten nach Beliebenund seine höchsten Beamten Weisheit lehren.
23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.	23 So kam denn Israel nach Ägypten,und Jakob weilte als Gast im Lande Hams.
24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.	24 Da machte Gott sein Volk gar fruchtbarund ließ es stärker werden als seine Bedränger;
25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.	25 er wandelte ihren Sinn, sein Volk zu hassenund Arglist an seinen Knechten zu üben.
26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.	26 Dann sandte er Mose, seinen Knecht,und Aaron, den er erkoren;
27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.	27 die richteten seine Zeichen unter ihnen ausund die Wunder im Lande Hams:
28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.	28 Er sandte Finsternis und ließ es dunkel werden;doch sie achteten nicht auf seine Worte;
29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.	29 er verwandelte ihre Gewässer in Blutund ließ ihre Fische sterben;
30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.	30 es wimmelte ihr Land von Fröschenbis hinein in ihre Königsgemächer;
31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.	31 er gebot, da kamen Bremsenschwärme,Stechfliegen über ihr ganzes Gebiet;
32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.	32 er gab ihnen Hagelschauer als Regen,sandte flammendes Feuer in ihr Land;
33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.	33 er schlug ihre Reben und Feigenbäumeund zerbrach die Bäume in ihrem Gebiet;
34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,	34 er gebot, da kamen die Heuschreckenund die Grillen in zahlloser Menge,
35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.	35 die verzehrten alle Gewächse im Landund fraßen die Früchte ihrer Felder.
36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.	36 Dann schlug er alle Erstgeburt im Lande,die Erstlinge all ihrer Manneskraft.
37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.	37 Nun ließ er sie ausziehn mit Silber und Gold,und kein Strauchelnder war in seinen Stämmen;
38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.	38 Ägypten war ihres Auszugs froh,denn Angst vor ihnen hatte sie befallen.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.	39 Er breitete Gewölk aus als Deckeund Feuer, um ihnen die Nacht zu erhellen;
40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.	40 auf Moses Bitte ließ er Wachteln kommenund sättigte sie mit Himmelsbrot;
41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.	41 er spaltete einen Felsen: da rannen Wasserund flossen durch die Steppen als Strom;
42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.	42 denn er gedachte seines heiligen Wortes,dachte an Abraham, seinen Knecht.
43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:	43 So ließ er sein Volk in Freuden ausziehn,unter Jubel seine Erwählten;
44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;	44 dann gab er ihnen die Länder der Heiden,und was die Völker erworben, das nahmen sie in Besitz,
45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.	45 auf daß sie seine Gebote halten möchtenund seine Gesetze bewahrten. Halleluja!
