1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.	1 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach den Söhnen Noachs, Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ihnen wurden nach der Flut Söhne geboren.
2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.	2 Die Söhne Jafets sind Gomer, Magog, Madai, Jawan, Tubal, Meschech und Tiras.
3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 Die Söhne Gomers sind Aschkenas, Rifat und Togarma.
4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.	4 Die Söhne Jawans sind Elischa, Tarschisch, die Kittäer und die Rodaniter.
5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.	5 Von ihnen zweigten sich die Inselvölker in ihren verschiedenen Ländern ab, jedes nach seiner Sprache und seinen Sippenverbänden in ihren Völkerschaften.
6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.	6 Die Söhne Hams sind Kusch, Ägypten, Put und Kanaan.
7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.	7 Die Söhne von Kusch sind Seba, Hawila, Sabta, Ragma und Sabtecha, und die Söhne Ragmas sind Saba und Dedan.
8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.	8 Kusch zeugte Nimrod; dieser wurde der erste Held auf der Erde.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.	9 Er war ein tüchtiger Jäger vor dem Herrn. Deshalb pflegt man zu sagen: Ein tüchtiger Jäger vor dem Herrn wie Nimrod.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.	10 Kerngebiet seines Reiches war Babel, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Land Schinar.
11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,	11 Von diesem Land zog er nach Assur aus und erbaute Ninive, Rehobot-Ir, Kelach
12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.	12 sowie Resen, zwischen Ninive und Kelach, das ist die große Stadt.
13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,	13 Ägypten zeugte die Luditer, die Anamiter, die Lehabiter, die Naftuhiter,
14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.	14 die Patrositer und die Kasluhiter, von denen die Philister abstammen, ferner die Kaftoriter.
15 And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,	15 Kanaan zeugte Sidon, seinen Erstgeborenen, und Het,
16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,	16 ferner die Jebusiter, die Amoriter, die Girgaschiter,
17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,	17 die Hiwiter, die Arkiter, die Siniter,
18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.	18 die Arwaditer, die Zemariter und die Hamatiter. Später spalteten sich die Sippenverbände der Kanaaniter.
19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.	19 Das Gebiet der Kanaaniter reichte von Sidon, wenn man über Gerar kommt, bis Gaza, wenn man über Sodom, Gomorra, Adma und Zebojim kommt, bis Lescha.
20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.	20 Das waren die Söhne Hams nach ihren Sippenverbänden, nach ihren Sprachen in ihren Ländern und Völkerschaften.
21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.	21 Auch Sem wurden Kinder geboren. Er ist der Stammvater aller Söhne Ebers, der ältere Bruder Jafets.
22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 Die Söhne Sems sind Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram.
23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.	23 Die Söhne Arams sind Uz, Hul, Geter und Masch.
24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.	24 Arpachschad zeugte Schelach, Schelach zeugte Eber.
25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.	25 Dem Eber wurden zwei Söhne geboren; der eine hieß Peleg (Teilung), denn zu seiner Zeit wurde das Land geteilt, und sein Bruder hieß Joktan.
26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazar-maveth, and Jerah,	26 Joktan zeugte Almodad, Schelef, Hazarmawet, Jerach,
27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,	27 Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,
28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,	28 Obal, Abimaël, Scheba,
29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Hawila und Jobab. Das alles sind Söhne Joktans.
30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.	30 Ihr Siedlungsgebiet reichte von Mescha, wenn man über Sefar kommt, bis ans Ostgebirge.
31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.	31 Das waren die Söhne Sems nach ihren Sippenverbänden, nach ihren Sprachen in ihren Ländern, nach ihren Völkern.
32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.	32 Das waren die Sippenverbände der Söhne Noachs nach ihrer Geschlechterfolge in ihren Völkern. Von ihnen zweigten sich nach der Flut die Völker der Erde ab.
