Proverbios 15

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Una respuesta suave aplaca la ira, una palabra hiriente exacerba el furor.	1 A mild answer turns away wrath, sharp words stir up anger.
2 La lengua de los sabios hace amable la ciencia, pero la boca de los necios rebosa necedad.	2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge welcome, the mouth of a fool spews fol y.
3 Los ojos del Señor están en todas partes, vigilando a los malos y a los buenos.	3 The eyes of Yahweh are everywhere: observing the wicked and the good.
4 La lengua afable es un árbol de vida, la lengua perversa hiere en lo más vivo.	4 The tongue that soothes is a tree of life; the perverse tongue, a breaker of hearts.
5 El necio desprecia la instrucción de su padre, el que acepta la reprensión se muestra prudente.	5 Only a fool spurns a father's discipline, whoever accepts correction is discreet.
6 En casa del justo hay mucha riqueza, en las ganancias del malo hay turbación.	6 In the house of the upright there is no lack of treasure, the earnings of the wicked are fraught withanxiety.
7 Los labios de los sabios siembran la ciencia, no así el corazón de los necios.	7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, not so the hearts of fools.
8 El sacrificio de los malvados es abominable para el Señor, la plegaria de los hombres rectos obtiene su favor.	8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, dear to him is the prayer of the honest.
9 El Señor abomina la conducta del malvado, pero ama al que va tras la justicia.	9 The conduct of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, but he loves the person whose goal is uprightness.
10 El que abandona la senda recibirá su escarmiento, el que detesta la reprensión morirá.	10 Correction is severe for one who leaves the way; whoever hates being reprimanded wil die.
11 El Abismo y la Perdición están delante del Señor: ¡cuánto más los corazones de los hombres!	11 Sheol and Perdition lie open to Yahweh; how much more the human heart!
12 Al insolente no le gusta que lo reprendan, ni va adonde están los sabios.	12 The mocker does not care to be reprimanded, and wil not choose the wise as companions.
13 Un corazón contento alegra el semblante, un corazón afligido abate el espíritu.	13 Glad heart means happy face, where the heart is sad the spirit is broken.
14 Un corazón inteligente busca la ciencia, la boca de los necios se alimenta de necedad.	14 The heart of the wise seeks knowledge, a fool's mouth feeds on fol y.
15 Para el desdichado, todos los días son malos, pero el corazón feliz siempre está de fiesta.	15 For the poor every day is evil, for the joyous heart it is always festival time.
16 Más vale poco con temor del Señor, que un gran tesoro con inquietud.	16 Better to have little and with it fear of Yahweh than immense wealth and with it anxiety.
17 Más vale un plato de legumbres con amor que un buey cebado, pero con odio.	17 Better a dish of herbs when love is there than a fattened ox and hatred to go with it.
18 El hombre iracundo provoca altercados, el que tarda en enojarse aplaca las disputas.	18 The hot-headed provokes disputes, the equable al ays dissension.
19 El camino del perezoso es como un cerco de espinas, pero la senda de los laboriosos está despejada.	19 The way of the lazy is like a thorny hedge, the path of the honest is a broad highway.
20 Un hijo sabio es la alegría de su padre, un hijo necio desprecia a su madre.	20 A wise child is a father's joy; only a brute despises his mother.
21 La necedad es la alegría del insensato, pero el inteligente va derecho por su camino.	21 Fol y appeals to someone without sense, a person of understanding goes straight forward.
22 Por falta de deliberación, fracasan los planes, con muchos consejeros, se llevan a cabo.	22 Without deliberation plans come to nothing. Plans succeed where counsellors are many.
23 Es un placer para el hombre dar una buena respuesta, ¡y qué buena es una palabra oportuna!	23 Anyone who has a ready answer has joy too: how satisfying is the apt reply!
24 El prudente sube por un sendero de vida, y así se aparta del Abismo profundo.	24 For the prudent, the path of life leads upwards thus avoiding Sheol below.
25 El Señor derriba la casa de los soberbios, pero mantiene en pie los linderos de la viuda.	25 Yahweh pulls down the house of the proud, but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.
26 Las malas intenciones son abominables para el Señor, pero le agradan las palabras puras.	26 Wicked scheming is abhorrent to Yahweh, but words that are kind are pure.
27 El que obtiene ganancias deshonestas perturba su casa, el que detesta el soborno vivirá.	27 Craving for dishonest gain brings trouble on a house, hatred of bribery earns life.
28 El justo medita antes de responder, pero la boca de los malos rebosa maldad.	28 The heart of the upright reflects before answering, the mouth of the wicked spews out wickedness.
29 El Señor está lejos de los malvados, pero escucha la plegaria de los justos.	29 Yahweh keeps his distance from the wicked, but he listens to the prayers of the upright.
30 Una mirada luminosa alegra el corazón, una buena noticia vigoriza los huesos.	30 A kindly glance gives joy to the heart, good news lends strength to the bones.
31 El oído atento a una advertencia saludable se hospedará en medio de los sabios.	31 The ear attentive to wholesome correction finds itself at home in the company of the wise.
32 El que rechaza la corrección se desprecia a sí mismo, el que escucha una reprensión adquiere sensatez.	32 Whoever rejects correction lacks self-respect, whoever accepts reproof grows in understanding.
33 El temor del Señor es escuela de sabiduría, y la humildad precede a la gloria.	33 The fear of Yahweh is a school of wisdom, before there can be glory, there must be humility.
