1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God. |
2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures, |
3 the gospel concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh |
| 4 ܘܐܬܝܕܥ ܒܪܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܚܝܠ ܘܒܪܘܚ ܩܕܘܫ ܕܩܡ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܪܢ ܀ | 4 and designated Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, |
| 5 ܕܒܗ ܢܤܒܢ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܫܠܝܚܘܬܐ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܫܬܡܥܘܢ ܠܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܫܡܗ ܀ | 5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, |
6 including yourselves who are called to belong to Jesus Christ; |
| 7 ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܪܗܘܡܝ ܚܒܝܒܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܩܪܝܐ ܘܩܕܝܫܐ ܫܠܡܐ ܘܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܀ | 7 To all God's beloved in Rome, who are called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. |
| 9 ܤܗܕ ܗܘ ܠܝ ܓܝܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܗ ܡܫܡܫ ܐܢܐ ܒܪܘܚ ܒܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܕܠܐ ܫܠܘܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܡܬܕܟܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܨܠܘܬܝ ܀ | 9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers, |
10 asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. |
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you, |
12 that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. |
| 13 ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܙܒܢܝܢ ܤܓܝܐܢ ܨܒܝܬ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܐܬܟܠܝܬ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܫܐ ܕܐܦ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܐܕܫܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܡܐ ܀ | 13 I want you to know, brethren, that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the Gentiles. |
14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish: |
15 so I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. |
| 16 ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܒܗܬ ܐܢܐ ܒܗ ܒܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܚܝܐ ܕܟܠ ܕܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܒܗ ܐܢ ܡܢ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܘܐܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܀ | 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel: it is the power of God for salvation to every one who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. |
| 17 ܟܐܢܘܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܗ ܡܬܓܠܝܐ ܡܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܠܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܕܟܐܢܐ ܡܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܢܚܐ ܀ | 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "He who through faith is righteous shall live." |
| 18 ܡܬܓܠܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܘܪܘܫܥܗܘܢ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܒܥܘܠܐ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܀ | 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. |
19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. |
| 20 ܟܤܝܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܢ ܬܪܡܝܬܗ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܠܒܪܝܬܗ ܒܤܘܟܠܐ ܡܬܚܙܝܢ ܘܚܝܠܗ ܘܐܠܗܘܬܗ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܦܩ ܒܪܘܚ ܀ | 20 Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse; |
| 21 ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܥܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܐܠܗܐ ܫܒܚܘܗܝ ܘܐܘܕܝܘ ܠܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܤܬܪܩܘ ܒܡܚܫܒܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܚܫܟ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܤܬܟܠ ܀ | 21 for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. |
22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, |
| 23 ܘܚܠܦܘ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܚܒܠ ܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܨܠܡܐ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܡܬܚܒܠ ܘܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܦܪܚܬܐ ܘܕܐܪܒܥܬ ܪܓܠܝܗ ܘܕܪܚܫܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܀ | 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man or birds or animals or reptiles. |
24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, |
| 25 ܘܚܠܦܘ ܫܪܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܟܕܒܘܬܐ ܘܕܚܠܘ ܘܫܡܫܘ ܠܒܪܝܬܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܕܠܒܪܘܝܗܝܢ ܕܠܗ ܬܫܒܚܢ ܘܒܘܪܟܢ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܀ | 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen. |
| 26 ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܟܐܒܐ ܕܨܥܪܐ ܢܩܒܬܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܚܠܦ ܚܫܚܬܐ ܕܟܝܢܗܝܢ ܘܒܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܡܟܢ ܐܬܚܫܚ ܀ | 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, |
| 27 ܘܬܘܒ ܐܦ ܕܟܪܝܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܫܒܩܘ ܚܫܚܬܐ ܕܟܝܢܐ ܕܢܩܒܬܐ ܘܐܫܬܪܚܘ ܒܪܓܬܐ ܚܕ ܥܠ ܚܕ ܘܕܟܪܐ ܥܠ ܕܟܪܐ ܒܗܬܬܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܘܦܘܪܥܢܐ ܕܙܕܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܛܥܝܘܬܗܘܢ ܒܩܢܘܡܗܘܢ ܩܒܠܘܗܝ ܀ | 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error. |
| 28 ܘܐܝܟ ܕܠܐ ܕܢܘ ܒܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܢܕܥܘܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܡܕܥܐ ܕܤܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܀ | 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct. |
| 29 ܟܕ ܡܠܝܢ ܟܠ ܥܘܠܘܬܐ ܘܙܢܝܘܬܐ ܘܡܪܝܪܘܬܐ ܘܒܝܫܘܬܐ ܘܥܠܘܒܘܬܐ ܘܚܤܡܐ ܘܩܛܠܐ ܘܚܪܝܢܐ ܘܢܟܠܐ ܘܡܚܫܒܬܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܀ | 29 They were filled with all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity, they are gossips, |
| 30 ܘܪܛܢܐ ܘܡܐܟܠܩܪܨܐ ܘܤܢܝܐܝܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܨܥܪܢܐ ܚܬܝܪܐ ܫܒܗܪܢܐ ܡܫܟܚܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܤܝܪܝ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܕܠܐܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܡܬܛܦܝܤܝܢ ܀ | 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, |
31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. |
| 32 ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܟܕ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܕܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܝܟ ܗܠܝܢ ܤܥܪܝܢ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܡܚܝܒ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܗܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܡܫܬܘܬܦܝܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܀ | 32 Though they know God's decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them. |
