1 Giubilate nel Signore, o giusti; ai retti s'addice la lode.	1 Rejoice, you just, in the LORD; praise from the upright is fitting.
2 Celebrate il Signore con la cetra, con l'arpa a dieci corde a lui inneggiate.	2 Give thanks to the LORD on the harp; on the ten-stringed lyre offer praise.
3 Cantate a lui un cantico nuovo, salmodiate con arte in giubilo festoso.	3 Sing to God a new song; skillfully play with joyful chant.
4 Poiché retta è la parola del Signore e fedeltà ogni sua opera.	4 For the LORD'S word is true; all his works are trustworthy.
5 Egli ama la giustizia e l'equità; della misericordia del Signore è piena la terra.	5 The LORD loves justice and right and fills the earth with goodness.
6 Con la parola del Signore furon fatti i cieli e col soffio della sua bocca tutto il loro ornamento.	6 By the LORD'S word the heavens were made; by the breath of his mouth all their host.
7 Egli riunì come in un otre le acque del mare, in serbatoi collocò gli abissi.	7 The waters of the sea were gathered as in a bowl; in cellars the deep was confined.
8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra, lo riveriscano tutti gli abitanti del mondo;	8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all who dwell in the world show reverence.
9 poiché egli parlò e fu fatto, egli comandò ed esso fu creato.	9 For he spoke, and it came to be, commanded, and it stood in place.
10 Sventa il Signore il piano dei popoli, rende vani i propositi delle nazioni.	10 The LORD foils the plan of nations, frustrates the designs of peoples.
11 Il piano del Signore sussiste per sempre, il proposito del suo cuore di generazione in generazione.	11 But the plan of the LORD stands forever, wise designs through all generations.
12 Beata la nazione il cui Dio è il Signore, il popolo ch'egli s'è scelto per eredità.	12 Happy the nation whose God is the LORD, the people chosen as his very own.
13 Il Signore guarda dal cielo, osserva tutti i figli dell'uomo.	13 From heaven the LORD looks down and observes the whole human race,
14 Dal luogo della sua dimora guarda su tutti gli abitanti della terra.	14 Surveying from the royal throne all who dwell on earth.
15 Ad uno ad uno plasmò il loro cuore, egli scruta tutte le loro azioni.	15 The one who fashioned the hearts of them all knows all their works.
16 Nessun re può salvarsi con la moltitudine dei suoi soldati; nessun prode trova scampo nell'abbondanza del suo vigore.	16 A king is not saved by a mighty army, nor a warrior delivered by great strength.
17 Impotente è il cavallo a portar salvezza e scampo non può portare con l'abbondanza della sua forza.	17 Useless is the horse for safety; its great strength, no sure escape.
18 Ecco, l'occhio del Signore è sopra quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua misericordia,	18 But the LORD'S eyes are upon the reverent, upon those who hope for his gracious help,
19 per liberare dalla morte le loro anime, per farli sopravvivere in tempo di fame.	19 Delivering them from death, keeping them alive in times of famine.
20 Verso il Signore anela l'anima nostra: egli è nostro aiuto e nostro scudo.	20 Our soul waits for the LORD, who is our help and shield.
21 Sì, in lui gioisce il nostro cuore; sì, noi confidiamo nel santo suo nome.	21 For in God our hearts rejoice; in your holy name we trust.
22 Sia su di noi, o Signore, la tua misericordia, poiché in te abbiamo posto la nostra fiducia.	22 May your kindness, LORD, be upon us; we have put our hope in you.
