VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Hic est liber generationis Adam. In die qua creavit Deus hominem, ad similitudinem Dei fecit illum.	1 This is the rol of Adam's descendants: On the day that God created Adam he made him in the likenessof God.
2 Masculum et feminam creavit eos, et benedixit illis : et vocavit nomen eorum Adam, in die quo creati sunt.	2 Male and female he created them. He blessed them and gave them the name Man, when they werecreated.
3 Vixit autem Adam centum triginta annis : et genuit ad imaginem et similitudinem suam, vocavitque nomen ejus Seth.	3 When Adam was a hundred and thirty years old he fathered a son, in his likeness, after his image, andhe cal ed him Seth.
4 Et facti sunt dies Adam, postquam genuit Seth, octingenti anni : genuitque filios et filias.	4 Adam lived for eight hundred years after the birth of Seth and he fathered sons and daughters.
5 Et factum est omne tempus quod vixit Adam, anni nongenti triginta, et mortuus est.	5 In al , Adam lived for nine hundred and thirty years; then he died.
6 Vixit quoque Seth centum quinque annis, et genuit Enos.	6 When Seth was a hundred and five years old he fathered Enosh.
7 Vixitque Seth, postquam genuit Enos, octingentis septem annis, genuitque filios et filias.	7 After the birth of Enosh, Seth lived for eight hundred and seven years, and he fathered sons anddaughters.
8 Et facti sunt omnes dies Seth nongentorum duodecim annorum, et mortuus est.	8 In al , Seth lived for nine hundred and twelve years; then he died.
9 Vixit vero Enos nonaginta annis, et genuit Cainan.	9 When Enosh was ninety years old he fathered Kenan.
10 Post cujus ortum vixit octingentis quindecim annis, et genuit filios et filias.	10 After the birth of Kenan, Enosh lived for eight hundred and fifteen years and he fathered sons anddaughters.
11 Factique sunt omnes dies Enos nongenti quinque anni, et mortuus est.	11 In al , Enosh lived for nine hundred and five years; then he died.
12 Vixit quoque Cainan septuaginta annis, et genuit Malaleel.	12 When Kenan was seventy years old he fathered Mahalalel.
13 Et vixit Cainan, postquam genuit Malaleel, octingentis quadraginta annis, genuitque filios et filias.	13 After the birth of Mahalalel, Kenan lived for eight hundred and forty years and he fathered sons anddaughters.
14 Et facti sunt omnes dies Cainan nongenti decem anni, et mortuus est.	14 In al , Kenan lived for nine hundred and ten years; then he died.
15 Vixit autem Malaleel sexaginta quinque annis, et genuit Jared.	15 When Mahalalel was sixty-five years old he fathered Jared.
16 Et vixit Malaleel, postquam genuit Jared, octingentis triginta annis, et genuit filios et filias.	16 After the birth of Jared, Mahalalel lived for eight hundred and thirty years and he fathered sons anddaughters.
17 Et facti sunt omnes dies Malaleel octingenti nonaginta quinque anni, et mortuus est.	17 In al , Mahalalel lived for eight hundred and ninety-five years; then he died.
18 Vixitque Jared centum sexaginta duobus annis, et genuit Henoch.	18 When Jared was a hundred and sixty-two years old he fathered Enoch.
19 Et vixit Jared, postquam genuit Henoch, octingentis annis, et genuit filios et filias.	19 After the birth of Enoch, Jared lived for eight hundred years and he fathered sons and daughters.
20 Et facti sunt omnes dies Jared nongenti sexaginta duo anni, et mortuus est.	20 In al , Jared lived for nine hundred and sixty-two years; then he died.
21 Porro Henoch vixit sexaginta quinque annis, et genuit Mathusalam.	21 When Enoch was sixty-five years old he fathered Methuselah.
22 Et ambulavit Henoch cum Deo : et vixit, postquam genuit Mathusalam, trecentis annis, et genuit filios et filias.	22 Enoch walked with God. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived for three hundred years and hefathered sons and daughters.
23 Et facti sunt omnes dies Henoch trecenti sexaginta quinque anni.	23 In al , Enoch lived for three hundred and sixty-five years.
24 Ambulavitque cum Deo, et non apparuit : quia tulit eum Deus.	24 Enoch walked with God, then was no more, because God took him.
25 Vixit quoque Mathusala centum octoginta septem annis, et genuit Lamech.	25 When Methuselah was a hundred and eighty-seven years old he fathered Lamech.
26 Et vixit Mathusala, postquam genuit Lamech, septingentis octoginta duobus annis, et genuit filios et filias.	26 After the birth of Lamech, Methuselah lived for seven hundred and eighty-two years and he fatheredsons and daughters.
27 Et facti sunt omnes dies Mathusala nongenti sexaginta novem anni, et mortuus est.	27 In al , Methuselah lived for nine hundred and sixty-nine years; then he died.
28 Vixit autem Lamech centum octoginta duobus annis, et genuit filium :	28 When Lamech was a hundred and eighty-two years old he fathered a son.
29 vocavitque nomen ejus Noë, dicens : Iste consolabitur nos ab operibus et laboribus manuum nostrarum in terra, cui maledixit Dominus.	29 He gave him the name Noah because, he said, 'Here is one who wil give us, in the midst of our toiland the labouring of our hands, a consolation out of the very soil that Yahweh cursed.'
30 Vixitque Lamech, postquam genuit Noë, quingentis nonaginta quinque annis, et genuit filios et filias.	30 After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived for five hundred and ninety-five years and fathered sons anddaughters.
31 Et facti sunt omnes dies Lamech septingenti septuaginta septem anni, et mortuus est. Noë vero cum quingentorum esset annorum, genuit Sem, Cham et Japheth.	31 In al , Lamech lived for seven hundred and seventy-seven years; then he died.
	32 When Noah was five hundred years old he fathered Shem, Ham and Japheth.
