1 In parts according to verses. A Psalm of David.	1 (Per la fine tra i canti. Salmo di David).
2 When I called upon him, the God of my justice heeded me. In tribulation, you have enlarged me. Have mercy on me, and heed my prayer.	2 Appena lo invoco, mi esaudisce il Dio della mia giustizia: nelle strettezze mi apri una larga strada. Abbi pietà di me ed esaudisci la mia preghiera.
3 Sons of men, how long will you be dull in heart, so that whatever you love is in vain, and whatever you seek is false?	3 Figlioli degli uomini, fino a quando sarete duri di cuore? Perchè amate la vanità e andate dietro alla menzogna?
4 And know this: the Lord has made wondrous his holy one. The Lord will heed me when I cry out to him.	4 Or sappiate che il Signore ha glorificato il suo Santo, che il Signore m'esaudisce quando innalzo a lui la mia voce.
5 Be angry, and do not be willing to sin. The things that you say in your hearts: be sorry for them on your beds.	5 Adiratevi pure; ma non vogliate peccare; di quello che dite nei vostri cuori pentitevene nei vostri letti.
6 Offer the sacrifice of justice, and hope in the Lord. Many say, “Who reveals to us what is good?”	6 Offrite sacrifizio di giustizia e confidate nel Signore. Molti dicono: « Chi ci farà vedere il bene? »
7 The light of your countenance, Lord, has been sealed upon us. You have given joy to my heart.	7 Brilla sopra di noi la luce del tuo volto, o Signore, tu m'hai infusa la letizia nel cuore.
8 By the fruit of their grain, wine, and oil, they have been multiplied.	8 E supera quella di chi ha avuto il frumento, il vino e l'olio in abbondanza.
9 In peace itself, I will sleep and I will rest.	9 Io mi coricherò in pace e subito mi addormenterò,
10 For you, O Lord, have established me singularly in hope.	10 Perchè tu, o Signore, mi hai in particolare stabilito nella speranza.
