1 In parts according to verses. A Psalm of David.	1 - Al corifeo: su strumenti a corda. Salmo di David.
2 When I called upon him, the God of my justice heeded me. In tribulation, you have enlarged me. Have mercy on me, and heed my prayer.	2 Quando [l'] invoco, m'esaudisce il Dio della mia giustizia. Nell'angustia sei tu che mi facesti largo: abbi pietà di me e ascolta la mia preghiera!
3 Sons of men, how long will you be dull in heart, so that whatever you love is in vain, and whatever you seek is false?	3 Figliuoli degli uomini, sino a quando sarete duri di cuore? Perchè amate la vanità, e cercate la menzogna?
4 And know this: the Lord has made wondrous his holy one. The Lord will heed me when I cry out to him.	4 Sappiate che il Signore ha operato meraviglie per il suo santo: il Signore mi ascolta, quando inalzo a lui la voce.
5 Be angry, and do not be willing to sin. The things that you say in your hearts: be sorry for them on your beds.	5 Sdegnatevi [pure], ma non peccate [ostinandovi nella ribellione]: di ciò che andate tramando ne' vostri cuori, pentitevi sui vostri giacigli.
6 Offer the sacrifice of justice, and hope in the Lord. Many say, “Who reveals to us what is good?”	6 [E voi, miei fidi], sacrificate giusti sacrifizi, e sperate nel Signore. Molti dicono: «Chi ci farà vedere [un po'] di bene?».
7 The light of your countenance, Lord, has been sealed upon us. You have given joy to my heart.	7 Qual vessillo è spiegata su noi la luce del tuo volto, o Signore! Hai infuso letizia nel mio cuore,
8 By the fruit of their grain, wine, and oil, they have been multiplied.	8 più di quando il frumento e il mosto loro abbondano.
9 In peace itself, I will sleep and I will rest.	9 In pace, a un tempo, mi corico e m'addormento,
10 For you, O Lord, have established me singularly in hope.	10 perchè tu, o Signore, tu solo mi fai stare al sicuro.
