1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.	1 Ma Sem, Cam e Iafet sono la generazione di Noè: dopo il diluvio nati sono a loro molti figliuoli.
2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.	2 I figliuoli di Jafet nacquero questi: Gomer, Magog, Madai, lavan e Tubal e Mosoc e Tiras.
3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 Ma i figliuoli di Gomer sono questi; Ascenez e Rifat e Togorma.
4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.	4 Ma i figliuoli di laran sono questi: Elisa e Tarsis, Cettim e Dodanim.
5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.	5 E da costoro si cominciò a dividere l'insule delle genti, ciascuna per sua regione, ciascuno secondo la lingua sua e le famiglie nelle nazioni loro.
6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.	6 I figliuoli di Cam sono questi, cioè: Cus, Mes raim e Fut e Canaan.
7 And the sons of Cush were Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dadan.	7 I figliuoli di Cus sono questi, cioè: Saba, Evila e Sabata e Regma e Sabataca. I figliuoli di Regma sono questi, cioè: Saba e Dadan.
8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.	8 Ma alla fine Cus generoe Nemrot; questi in cominciò essere potente nella terra.
9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’	9 E sì era molto robusto cacciatore innanzi al Signore. E da costui uscì in proverbio: questi è quasi Nemrot, robusto cacciatore innanzi al Signore.
10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.	10 E fue certo il principio dello regno suo Ba bilon e Arac e Acad e Calanne nella terra di Sen naar.
11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,	11 Della quale terra uscito n'è Assur, il quale edificoe Ninive e le piazze della cittade, e Cale.
12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.	12 Resen etiam edificò fra Ninive e Cale; e questa è cittade grande.
13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,	13 Mesraim generoe Ludim e Ananim e Laa bim e Neftuim,
14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.	14 e Fetrusim e Casluim, de' quali sono usciti i Filistei e Caftorimi.
15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,	15 Ma Canaan generoe Sidone, suo primogenito, il popolo Eteo,
16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,	16 e Jebuseo, Amorreo e Gergeseo,
17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,	17 Eveo e Aracheo, Sineo,
18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.	18 ed Aradeo, Samareo ed Amateo. E per costoro disseminati sono li popoli de' Cananei.
19 And the borders of Chanaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.	19 E fatti sono i termini [di] Canaan, vegnendo da Sidone Gerara insino a Gaza, tanto che entri in Sodoma e Gomorra, e Adamam e Seboim insino a Lesa.
20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.	20 Questi sono figliuoli di Cam, ne'descendenti, lingue e generazioni e terre e genti loro.
21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.	21 Ma di Sem nacquero i padri di tutti i figliuoli di Eber.
22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 I figliuoli di Sem sono: Aclam ed Assur ed Arfasat e Lud ed Aram.
23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.	23 I figliuoli di Aram: Us e Ul e Geter e Mes.
24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.	24 Ma Arfasat generoe Sale, del quale nato è Eber.
25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.	25 Al quale Eber nati sono due figliuoli; dei quali l'uno ebbe nome Faleg, impercio che ne' die suoi divisa fue la terra; ed il nome del fratello suo, Iectan.
26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah	26 Il quale lectan generoe Elmoda e Salef ed Asarmot, Iare,
27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,	27 e Aduram, Uzal, Decla,
28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba	28 Ebal e Abimael, Saba,
29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.	29 e Ofir, Evila e Jobab. Tutti questi figliuoli di Iectan.
30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.	30 Ed abitarono, per loro abitazione, da Messa insino a Sefar, monte orientale.
31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.	31 Questi sono figliuoli di Sem, secondo i di scendenti e lingue e regioni delle genti che di loro nacquero.
32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.	32 Queste sono le famiglie di Noe, appresso i popoli e nazioni suoi. E da costoro divise sono le genti in terra dopo il diluvio.
