1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.	1 Los descendientes de los tres hijos de Noé, Sem, Cam y Jafet –que tuvieron hijos después del Diluvio– fueron los siguientes:
2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.	2 Los hijos de Jafet fueron Gómer, Magog, Madai, Javán, Tubal, Mésec y Tirás.
3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 Los hijos de Gómer fueron Asquenaz, Rifat y Togarmá.
4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.	4 Los hijos de Javán fueron Elisá, Tarsis, los Quitím y los Rodaním.
5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.	5 Estos fueron los hijos de Jafet, y a partir de ellos, se expandieron las naciones marítimas por sus respectivos territorios, cada una con su lengua, sus clanes y sus nacionalidades.
6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.	6 Los hijos de Cam fueron Cus, Misraim, Put y Canaán.
7 And the sons of Cush were Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dadan.	7 Los hijos de Cus fueron Sebá, Javilá, Sabtá, Ramá y Sabtecá. Los hijos de Ramá fueron Sebá y Dedán.
8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.	8 Cus fue padre de Nemrod, que llegó a ser el primer guerrero sobre la tierra.
9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’	9 El fue un valiente cazador delante del Señor. Por eso se dice: «Valiente cazador delante del Señor como Nemrod».
10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.	10 Babilonia, Erec y Acad –todas ellas están en la región de Senaar– fueron el núcleo inicial de su reino.
11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,	11 De esa región salió para Asur, y edificó Nínive, con sus plazas urbanas, Calaj,
12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.	12 y Resen, entre Nínive y Calaj. Está última era la capital.
13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,	13 Misraim fue padre de los pobladores de Lud, Anam, Lehab, Naftuj,
14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.	14 Patrós y Casluj, y también de los pobladores de Caftor, de donde salieron los filisteos.
15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,	15 Canaán fue padre de Sidón, su primogénito, y de Het;
16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,	16 también de los jebuseos, de los amorreos, de los guirgasitas,
17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,	17 de los jivitas, de los arqueos, de los sineos,
18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.	18 de los arvaditas, de los semaritas y de los jamateos. Más tarde se expandieron los clanes de los cananeos,
19 And the borders of Chanaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.	19 y sus fronteras llegaron desde Sidón hasta Gaza por el camino de Guerar; y hasta Lesa, yendo hacia Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá y Seboím.
20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.	20 Estos fueron los hijos de Cam, según sus clanes y sus lenguas, con sus respectivos territorios y nacionalidades.
21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.	21 También le nacieron hijos a Sem, el padre de todos los hijos de Eber y el hermano mayor de Jafet.
22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 Los hijos de Sem fueron Elam, Asur, Arpaxad, Lud y Aram.
23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.	23 Los hijos de Aram fueron Us, Jul, Guéter y Mas.
24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.	24 Arpaxad fue padre de Sélaj y este fue padre de Eber.
25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.	25 Eber tuvo dos hijos: el nombre del primero era Péleg, porque en su tiempo se dividió la tierra. Su hermano se llamaba Ioctán.
26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah	26 Ioctán fue padre de Almodad, Sélef, Jasarmávet, Iéraj,
27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diclá,
28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba	28 Obal, Abimael, Sebá,
29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Javilá y Iobab. Todos estos fueron hijos de Ioctán.
30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.	30 Los lugares donde residieron se extendían desde Mesa, en dirección a Sefar, hasta la montaña de Oriente.
31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.	31 Estos fueron los hijos de Sem, según sus clanes y sus lenguas, con sus respectivos territorios y nacionalidades.
32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.	32 Estos fueron los clanes de los hijos de Noé, según sus orígenes y nacionalidades. A partir de ellos, las naciones se expandieron sobre la tierra después del Diluvio.
