1 Cantico dei gradi. Signore, non si è insuperbito il mio cuore: ed alti non portai gli occhi miei.	1 A Canticle in steps: of David. O Lord, my heart has not been exalted, and my eyes have not been raised up. Neither have I walked in greatness, nor in wonders beyond me.
2 Né aspirai a cose grandi, né a cose meravigliose sopra la mia capacità.	2 When I was not humble in thought, then I lifted up my soul. Like one who has been weaned from his mother, so was I recompensed in my soul.
3 Se io (dando luogo al fasto nell'anima mia) non ebbi bassi sentimenti,	3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.
4 Quali son quei d'un fanciullo divezzato di fresco verso sua madre; cosi sia data a me la mercede.
5 Nel Signore speri Israele da questo punto, e pe' secoli.
