1 Nel mio primo libro ho già trattato, o Teòfilo, di tutto quello che Gesù fece e insegnò dal principio	1 Certainly, O Theophilus, I composed the first discourse about everything that Jesus began to do and to teach,
2 fino al giorno in cui, dopo aver dato istruzioni agli apostoli che si era scelti nello Spirito Santo, egli fu assunto in cielo.	2 instructing the Apostles, whom he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, even until the day on which he was taken up.

7 Ma egli rispose: "Non spetta a voi conoscere i tempi e i momenti che il Padre ha riservato alla sua scelta,	7 But he said to them: “It is not yours to know the times or the moments, which the Father has set by his own authority.
8 ma avrete forza dallo Spirito Santo che scenderà su di voi e mi sarete testimoni a Gerusalemme, in tutta la Giudea e la Samarìa e fino agli estremi confini della terra".	8 But you shall receive the power of the Holy Spirit, passing over you, and you shall be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”
9 Detto questo, fu elevato in alto sotto i loro occhi e una nube lo sottrasse al loro sguardo.	9 And when he had said these things, while they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight.
10 E poiché essi stavano fissando il cielo mentre egli se n'andava, ecco due uomini in bianche vesti si presentarono a loro e dissero:	10 And while they were watching him going up to heaven, behold, two men stood near them in white vestments.
11 "Uomini di Galilea, perché state a guardare il cielo? Questo Gesù, che è stato di tra voi assunto fino al cielo, tornerà un giorno allo stesso modo in cui l'avete visto andare in cielo".	11 And they said: “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall return in just the same way that you have seen him going up to heaven.”
12 Allora ritornarono a Gerusalemme dal monte detto degli Ulivi, che è vicino a Gerusalemme quanto il cammino permesso in un sabato.	12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain, which is called Olivet, which is next to Jerusalem, within a Sabbath day’s journey.
13 Entrati in città salirono al piano superiore dove abitavano. C'erano Pietro e Giovanni, Giacomo e Andrea, Filippo e Tommaso, Bartolomeo e Matteo, Giacomo di Alfeo e Simone lo Zelòta e Giuda di Giacomo.	13 And when they had entered into the cenacle, they ascended to the place where Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Jude of James, were staying.

18 Giuda comprò un pezzo di terra con i proventi del suo delitto e poi precipitando in avanti si squarciò in mezzo e si sparsero fuori tutte le sue viscere.	18 And this man certainly possessed an estate from the wages of iniquity, and so, having been hanged, he burst open in the middle and all his internal organs poured out.
19 La cosa è divenuta così nota a tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, che quel terreno è stato chiamato nella loro lingua Akeldamà, cioè Campo di sangue.	19 And this became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that this field was called in their language, Akeldama, that is, ‘Field of Blood.’
20 Infatti sta scritto nel libro dei Salmi: 'La sua dimora diventi deserta, e nessuno vi abiti, ' e: 'il suo incarico lo prenda un altro'.	20 For it has been written in the book of Psalms: ‘Let their dwelling place be desolate and may there be no one who dwells within it,’ and ‘Let another take his episcopate.’
21 Bisogna dunque che tra coloro che ci furono compagni per tutto il tempo in cui il Signore Gesù ha vissuto in mezzo a noi,	21 Therefore, it is necessary that, out of these men who have been assembling with us throughout the entire time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

26 Gettarono quindi le sorti su di loro e la sorte cadde su Mattia, che fu associato agli undici apostoli.	26 And they cast lots concerning them, and the lot fell upon Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven Apostles.
