BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Poiché, ecco, in quei giorni e in quel tempo, quando avrò fatto tornare i prigionieri di Giuda e Gerusalemme,	1 'For in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 riunirò tutte le nazioni e le farò scendere nella valle di Giòsafat, e là verrò a giudizio con loro per il mio popolo Israele, mia eredità, che essi hanno disperso fra le genti dividendosi poi la mia terra.	2 I shall gather all the nations together and take them down to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat; there I shal putthem on trial because of Israel, my people and my heritage, for having scattered them among the nations andhaving divided my land among themselves.
3 Hanno tirato a sorte il mio popolo e hanno dato un fanciullo in cambio di una prostituta, han venduto una fanciulla in cambio di vino e hanno bevuto.	3 They drew lots for my people, bartering a boy for a whore and sel ing a girl for wine to drink.
4 Anche voi, Tiro e Sidòne, e voi tutte contrade della Filistea, che siete per me? Vorreste prendervi la rivincita e vendicarvi di me? Io ben presto farò ricadere sul vostro capo il male che avete fatto.	4 'And what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon and al you regions of Philistia? Can you take revenge on me?If you take revenge on me, I shal quickly, instantly, make your revenge recoil on your own heads
5 Voi infatti avete rubato il mio oro e il mio argento, avete portato nei vostri templi i miei tesori preziosi;	5 for having taken my silver and gold away and carried off my valuable treasures to your temples,
6 avete venduto ai Greci i figli di Giuda e i figli di Gerusalemme per mandarli lontano dalla loro patria.	6 and for having sold the children of Judah and Jerusalem to the Ionians, to be taken far away from theirown frontiers.
7 Ecco, io li richiamo dalle città, dal luogo dove voi li avete venduti e farò ricadere sulle vostre teste il male che avete fatto.	7 Look, I shal rouse them from the places to which you have sold them; I shall make your actions recoilon your own heads
8 Venderò i vostri figli e le vostre figlie per mezzo dei figli di Giuda, i quali li venderanno ai Sabei, un popolo lontano. Il Signore ha parlato.	8 by sel ing your sons and daughters to the sons of Judah, who in turn wil sel them to the Sabaeans, to anation far away- Yahweh has spoken!'
9 Proclamate questo fra le genti: chiamate alla guerra santa, incitate i prodi, vengano, salgano tutti i guerrieri.	9 Proclaim this among the nations. Prepare for war! Rouse the champions! Al you troops, advance,march!
10 Con le vostre zappe fatevi spade e lance con le vostre falci; anche il più debole dica: io sono un guerriero!	10 Hammer your ploughshares into swords, your bil -hooks into spears; let the weakling say, 'I am tough!'
11 Svelte, venite, o genti tutte, dai dintorni e radunatevi là! Signore, fa' scendere i tuoi prodi!	11 Hurry and come, al the nations around, and assemble there! (Yahweh, send down your champions!)
12 Si affrettino e salgano le genti alla valle di Giòsafat, poiché lì siederò per giudicare tutte le genti all'intorno.	12 'Let the nations rouse themselves and march to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat, for there I shal sit injudgement on all the nations around.
13 Date mano alla falce, perché la messe è matura; venite, pigiate, perché il torchio è pieno e i tini traboccano... tanto grande è la loro malizia!	13 Ply the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; come and tread, for the winepress is full; the vats are overflowing,so great is their wickedness!'
14 Folle e folle nella Valle della decisione, poiché il giorno del Signore è vicino nella Valle della decisione.	14 Multitude on multitude in the Valley of Decision! For the Day of Yahweh is near in the Val ey of theVerdict!
15 Il sole e la luna si oscurano e le stelle perdono lo splendore.	15 Sun and moon grow dark, the stars lose their brilliance.
16 Il Signore ruggisce da Sion e da Gerusalemme fa sentire la sua voce; tremano i cieli e la terra. Ma il Signore è un rifugio al suo popolo, una fortezza per gli Israeliti.	16 Yahweh roars from Zion, he thunders from Jerusalem; heaven and earth tremble. But Yahweh wil be ashelter for his people, a stronghold for the Israelites.
17 Voi saprete che io sono il Signore vostro Dio che abito in Sion, mio monte santo e luogo santo sarà Gerusalemme; per essa non passeranno più gli stranieri.	17 'Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God residing on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem wilthen be a sanctuary, no foreigners will overrun it ever again.'
18 In quel giorno le montagne stilleranno vino nuovo e latte scorrerà per le colline; in tutti i ruscelli di Giuda scorreranno le acque. Una fonte zampillerà dalla casa del Signore e irrigherà la valle di Sittìm.	18 When that Day comes, the mountains will run with new wine and the hil s wil flow with milk, and al thestream-beds of Judah will run with water. A fountain wil spring from Yahweh's Temple and water the Gorge ofthe Acacias.
19 L'Egitto diventerà una desolazione e l'Idumea un brullo deserto per la violenza contro i figli di Giuda, per il sangue innocente sparso nel loro paese,	19 Egypt wil become a desolation, and Edom a desert waste on account of the violence done to thechildren of Judah whose innocent blood they shed in their country.
20 mentre Giuda sarà sempre abitato e Gerusalemme di generazione in generazione.	20 But Judah wil be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation!
21 Vendicherò il loro sangue, non lo lascerò impunito e il Signore dimorerà in Sion.	21 'I shal avenge their blood and let none go unpunished,' and Yahweh wil dwell in Zion.
