1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 "Ordina ad Aronne e ai suoi figli che si astengano dalle cose sante a me consacrate dagli Israeliti e non profanino il mio santo nome. Io sono il Signore.	2 'Speak to Aaron and his sons. They must be consecrated by the holy offerings of the Israelites andmust not profane my holy name; for my sake they must sanctify it; I am Yahweh.
3 Ordina loro: Qualunque uomo della vostra discendenza che nelle generazioni future si accosterà, in stato d'immondezza, alle cose sante consacrate dagli Israeliti al Signore, sarà eliminato davanti a me. Io sono il Signore.	3 Say to them: "Any one of your descendants, for al time, who in a state of uncleanness approaches theholy offerings consecrated to Yahweh by the Israelites, wil be outlawed from my presence. I am Yahweh.
4 Nessun uomo della stirpe di Aronne, affetto da lebbra o da gonorrea, potrà mangiare le cose sante, finché non sia mondo. Così sarà di chi abbia toccato qualunque persona immonda per contatto con un cadavere o abbia avuto una emissione seminale	4 "Anyone of Aaron's line who is afflicted with a contagious skin-disease or a discharge will not eat holythings until he is clean. Anyone who touches anything made unclean by a dead body, or who has a seminaldischarge,
5 o di chi abbia toccato qualsiasi rettile da cui abbia contratto immondezza oppure un uomo che gli abbia comunicato un'immondezza di qualunque specie.	5 or who is made unclean by touching any kind of reptile or any one who has contaminated him with hisown uncleanness, be it what it may,
6 La persona che abbia avuto tali contatti sarà immonda fino alla sera e non mangerà le cose sante prima di essersi lavato il corpo nell'acqua;	6 in short, anyone who has had any such contact wil be unclean until evening, and must not eat holythings until he has washed his body.
7 dopo il tramonto del sole sarà monda e allora potrà mangiare le cose sante, perché esse sono il suo vitto.	7 At sunset he wil be clean and may then eat holy things, for these are his food.
8 Il sacerdote non mangerà carne di bestia morta naturalmente o sbranata, per non rendersi immondo. Io sono il Signore.	8 "He must not eat an animal that has died a natural death or been savaged; he would contractuncleanness from it. I am Yahweh.
9 Osserveranno dunque ciò che ho comandato, altrimenti porteranno la pena del loro peccato e moriranno per aver profanato le cose sante. Io sono il Signore che li santifico.	9 "They must keep my rules and not burden themselves with sin. If they profane them, they will incurdeath; I, Yahweh, have sanctified them.
10 Nessun estraneo mangerà le cose sante: né l'ospite di un sacerdote o il salariato potrà mangiare le cose sante.	10 "No lay person may eat anything holy; no guest or employee of a priest may eat anything holy.
11 Ma una persona, che il sacerdote avrà comprata con il denaro, ne potrà mangiare: così anche quelli che gli sono nati in casa: questi potranno mangiare il suo pane.	11 But if the priest has acquired a slave by purchase, the slave may eat it like anyone born in hishousehold; they will share his food.
12 La figlia di un sacerdote, sposata con un estraneo, non potrà mangiare le cose sante offerte mediante il rito dell'elevazione.	12 "If a priest's daughter marries a layman, she will have no share in the holy things set aside,
13 Se invece la figlia del sacerdote è rimasta vedova o è stata ripudiata e non ha figli, se torna a stare da suo padre come quando era giovane, potrà mangiare il pane del padre; mentre nessun estraneo al sacerdozio potrà mangiarne.	13 but if she is widowed or divorced and, being childless, has had to return to her father's house aswhen she was young, she may share her father's food. No lay person may share it;
14 Se uno mangia per errore una cosa santa, darà al sacerdote il valore della cosa santa, aggiungendovi un quinto.	14 anyone who does eat a holy thing by inadvertence, wil restore it to the priest with one-fifth added.
15 I sacerdoti non profaneranno dunque le cose sante degli Israeliti, che essi offrono al Signore con la rituale elevazione,	15 "They may not profane the holy offerings which the Israelites have set aside for Yahweh.
16 e non faranno portare loro la pena del peccato di cui si renderebbero colpevoli, mangiando le loro cose sante; poiché io sono il Signore che le santifico".	16 By eating these, they would burden them with guilt requiring a sacrifice of reparation; for I, Yahweh, have sanctified these offerings." '
17 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
18 "Parla ad Aronne, ai suoi figli, a tutti gli Israeliti e ordina loro: Chiunque della casa d'Israele o dei forestieri dimoranti in Israele presenta in olocausto al Signore un'offerta per qualsiasi voto o dono volontario,	18 'Speak to Aaron, to his sons, and to al the Israelites and say: "Any member of the House of Israel orany alien resident in Israel who brings an offering either in payment of a vow or as a voluntary gift, and offers itas a burnt offering to Yahweh,
19 per essere gradito, dovrà offrire un maschio, senza difetto, di buoi, di pecore o di capre.	19 must, if he is to be acceptable, offer an unblemished male, be it bul or sheep or goat.
20 Non offrirete nulla con qualche difetto, perché non sarebbe gradito.	20 You wil not offer anything with a blemish, for it would not make you acceptable.
21 Se uno offre al Signore, in sacrificio di comunione, un bovino o un ovino, sia per sciogliere un voto, sia come offerta volontaria, la vittima, perché sia gradita, dovrà essere perfetta: senza difetti.	21 "If anyone offers Yahweh a communion sacrifice, either to fulfil a vow or as a voluntary offering, theanimal, be it from the herd or flock, must be perfect, if he is to be acceptable; it must be unblemished.
22 Non offrirete al Signore nessuna vittima cieca o storpia o mutilata o con ulceri o con la scabbia o con piaghe purulente; non ne farete sull'altare un sacrificio consumato dal fuoco in onore del Signore.	22 You wil not offer Yahweh any animal which is blind, lame, mutilated, ulcerous, scabby or covered insores. No part of such an animal wil be offered on the altar as food burnt for Yahweh.
23 Come offerta volontaria potrai presentare un bue o una pecora che abbia un membro troppo lungo o troppo corto; ma come offerta per qualche voto non sarebbe gradita.	23 As a voluntary offering, you may offer a bul or a lamb that is underdeveloped or deformed; but suchwil not be acceptable in payment of a vow.
24 Non offrirete al Signore un animale con i testicoli ammaccati o schiacciati o strappati o tagliati. Tali cose non farete nel vostro paese,	24 You wil not offer Yahweh an animal if its testicles have been bruised, crushed, torn or cut off. Youmay not do that in your country,
25 né accetterete dallo straniero alcuna di queste vittime per offrirla come pane in onore del vostro Dio; essendo mutilate, difettose, non sarebbero gradite per il vostro bene".	25 and you may not accept any such from the hands of a stranger, to be offered as food for your God.Their deformity is a blemish, and they would not make you acceptable." '
26 Il Signore aggiunse a Mosè:	26 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
27 "Quando nascerà un vitello o un agnello o un capretto, starà sette giorni sotto la madre; dall'ottavo giorno in poi, sarà gradito come vittima da consumare con il fuoco per il Signore.	27 'A calf, lamb, or kid will stay with its dam for seven days after being born. From the eighth dayonwards, it wil be acceptable as food burnt for Yahweh.
28 Non scannerete vacca o pecora lo stesso giorno con il suo piccolo.	28 But no animal, whether cow or ewe, wil be slaughtered on the same day as its young.
29 Quando offrirete al Signore un sacrificio di ringraziamento, offritelo in modo che sia gradito.	29 'If you offer Yahweh a sacrifice with praise, do it in the acceptable manner;
30 La vittima sarà mangiata il giorno stesso; non ne lascerete nulla fino al mattino. Io sono il Signore.	30 it must be eaten the same day; you wil leave nothing over til next morning. I am Yahweh.
31 Osserverete dunque i miei comandi e li metterete in pratica. Io sono il Signore.	31 'You wil keep my commands and put them into practice. I am Yahweh.
32 Non profanerete il mio santo nome, perché io mi manifesti santo in mezzo agli Israeliti. Io sono il Signore che vi santifico,	32 You wil not profane my holy name -- so that I may be honoured as holy among the Israelites, I,Yahweh, who make you holy,
33 che vi ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto per essere vostro Dio. Io sono il Signore".	33 I who brought you out of Egypt, to be your God, I, Yahweh.'
