| 1 El Señor dijo a Moisés: | 1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: |
| 2 «Esta es la ley que ha de aplicarse al leproso en el día de su purificación. Será llevado al sacerdote | 2 This is the rite of a leper, when he is to be cleansed: he shall be brought to the priest: |
| 3 y este saldrá fuera del campamento; si, tras haberlo examinado, comprueba que el leproso está ya curado de su lepra, | 3 Who going out of the camp when he shall And that the leprosy is cleansed, |
| 4 el sacerdote mandará traer para el que ha de ser purificado dos pájaros puros vivos, madera de cedro, púrpura escarlata e hisopo. | 4 Shall command him that is to be purified, to offer for himself two living sparrows, which it is lawful to eat, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop. |
| 5 Mandará degollar uno de los pájaros sobre una vasija de barro con agua corriente. | 5 And he shall command one of the sparrows to be immolated in an earthen vessel over living waters: |
| 6 Tomará luego el pájaro vivo, la madera de cedro, la púrpura escarlata y el hisopo, los mojará, junto con el pájaro vivo, en la sangre del pájaro degollado sobre agua corriente, | 6 But the other that is alive he shall dip, with the cedar wood, and the scarlet and the hyssop, in the blood of the sparrow that is immolated: |
| 7 y hará siete aspersiones sobre el que ha de ser purificado de la lepra y lo declarará puro. Y soltará el pájaro vivo en el campo. | 7 Wherewith he shall sprinkle him that is to be cleansed seven times, that he may be rightly purified: and he shall let go the living sparrow, that it may fly into the field. |
| 8 El que se purifica lavará sus vestidos, se afeitará totalmente, se bañará y quedará limpio. Entonces podrá entrar en el campamento; pero durante siete días se quedará fuera de su tienda. | 8 And when the man hath washed his clothes, he shall shave all the hair of his body, and shall be washed with water: and being purified, he shall enter into the camp, yet so that he tarry without his own tent seven days: |
| 9 El día séptimo se afeitará todo el pelo, la cabeza, la barba, las cejas; en una palabra, todo el pelo, lavará también sus vestidos, bañará su cuerpo y quedará limpio. | 9 And on the seventh day he shall shave the hair of his head, and his beard and his eyebrows, and the hair of all his body. And having washed again his clothes, and his body, |
| 10 El día octavo tomará dos corderos sin defecto y una cordera de un año sin defecto; y como oblación, tres décimas de flor de harina amasada con aceite y un cuartillo de aceite. | 10 On the eighth day he shall take two lambs without blemish, and an ewe of a year old without blemish, and three tenths of flour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil apart. |
| 11 El sacerdote que hace la purificación presentará ante el Señor, junto con todo eso, al hombre que ha de purificarse, a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro. | 11 And when the priest that purifieth the man, hath presented him, and all these things before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, |
| 12 El sacerdote tomará uno de los corderos y lo ofrecerá como sacrificio de reparación, además del cuartillo de aceite, y ejecutará con él el rito de balanceo ante el Señor. | 12 He shall take a. lamb, and offer it for a trespass offering with the sextary of oil: and having offered all before the Lord, |
| 13 Luego degollará el cordero en el lugar donde se degüellan el sacrificio por el pecado y el holocausto, en lugar sagrado; porque, tanto en el sacrificio expiatorio como en el sacrificio de reparación, la víctima pertenece al sacerdote; es cosa santísima. | 13 He shall immolate the lamb, where the victim for sin is wont to be immolated, and the holocaust, that is, in the holy place: for as that which is for sin, so also the victim for a trespass offering pertaineth to the priest: it is holy of holies. |
| 14 Después el sacerdote tomará sangre de la víctima de reparación y untará el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se está purificando, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el dedo gordo de su pie derecho. | 14 And the priest taking of the blood of the victim that was immolated for trespass, shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot: |
| 15 El sacerdote tomará parte del cuartillo de aceite y lo pondrá en la palma de su mano izquierda. | 15 And he shall pour of the sextary of oil into his own left. hand, |
| 16 Después untará un dedo de su mano derecha en el aceite que tiene en la palma de su mano izquierda, y hará con su dedo siete aspersiones de aceite delante del Señor. | 16 And shall dip his right finger in it, and sprinkle it before the Lord seven times. |
| 17 Con el aceite que le queda en la mano, el sacerdote untará el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se purifica, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el dedo gordo de su pie derecho, así como la sangre de la víctima de reparación. | 17 And the rest of the oil in his left band, he shall pour upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot, and upon the blood that was shed for trespass, |
| 18 El resto del aceite que quede en la mano del sacerdote, se derramará sobre la cabeza del que se purifica. El sacerdote expiará así por él ante el Señor. | 18 And upon his head. |
| 19 El sacerdote ofrecerá entonces el sacrificio expiatorio y hará así expiación por el que se purifica de su impureza. Después degollará el holocausto, | 19 And he shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall offer the sacrifice for sin: then shall he immolate the holocaust, |
| 20 y ofrecerá sobre el altar el holocausto y la oblación. De esta manera el sacerdote hará expiación por él y quedará limpio. | 20 And put it on the altar with the libations thereof, and the man shall be rightly cleansed. |
| 21 Si es pobre y no tiene suficientes recursos, tomará un cordero como sacrificio de reparación, como ofrenda para el balanceo ritual, para hacer expiación por él, y además, como oblación, una décima de flor de harina amasada con aceite, un cuartillo de aceite, | 21 But if he be poor, and his hand cannot find the things aforesaid: he shall take a lamb for an offering for trespass, that the priest may pray for him, and a tenth part of hour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil, |
| 22 y dos tórtolas o dos pichones, según sus posibilidades, uno como sacrificio por el pecado, y otro como holocausto. | 22 And two turtles or two young pigeons, of which one may be for sin, and the other for a holocaust: |
| 23 El octavo día, los llevará al sacerdote, a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro, delante del Señor, para su purificación. | 23 And he shall offer them on the eighth day of his purification to the priest, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony before the Lord. |
| 24 El sacerdote tomará el cordero del sacrificio de reparación y el cuartillo de aceite, y ejecutará con ellos el rito de balanceo ante el Señor. | 24 And the priest receiving the lamb for trespass, and the sextary of oil, shall elevate them together. |
| 25 Degollará el cordero del sacrificio de reparación y el sacerdote tomará sangre de la víctima de reparación y untará el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se purifica, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el dedo gordo de su pie derecho. | 25 And the lamb being immolated, he shall put of the blood thereof upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot: |
| 26 Luego derramará parte del aceite sobre la palma de su mano izquierda; | 26 But he shall pour part of the oil into his own left hand, |
| 27 con un dedo de su mano derecha hará ante el Señor siete aspersiones con el aceite que tiene en la palma de la mano izquierda, | 27 And dipping the finger of his right hand in it, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord: |
| 28 untará con el aceite que tiene en su mano el lóbulo de la oreja derecha del que se purifica, el pulgar de su mano derecha y el dedo gordo de su pie derecho, así como la sangre de la víctima de reparación. | 28 And he shall touch the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot, in the place of the blood that was shed for trespass. |
| 29 Derramará el resto del aceite que le quede en la mano sobre la cabeza del que se purifica, haciendo expiación por él ante el Señor. | 29 And the other part of the oil that is in his left hand, he shall pour upon the head of the purified person, that he may appease the Lord for him. |
| 30 Luego ofrecerá una de las tórtolas o de los pichones, según las posibilidades, | 30 And he shall offer a turtle, or young pigeon, |
| 31 uno como sacrificio expiatorio y otro como holocausto, además de la oblación. De este modo el sacerdote hará expiación ante el Señor por aquel que se purifica. | 31 One for trespass, and the other for a holocaust, with their libations. |
| 32 Esta es la ley de la purificación para aquel que tiene lepra y cuyos recursos son limitados». | 32 This is the sacrifice of a leper, that is not able to have all things that appertain to his cleansing. |
| 33 El Señor dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: | 33 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: |
| 34 «Cuando hayáis entrado en la tierra de Canaán que os voy a dar en posesión, si yo hago aparecer manchas de lepra en alguna de las casas de la tierra que vais a poseer, | 34 When you shall be come into the land of Chanaan, which I will give you for a possession, if there be the plague of leprosy in a house, |
| 35 el propietario de la casa irá a avisar al sacerdote y le dirá: “Ha aparecido algo así como lepra en mi casa”. | 35 He whose house it is, shall go and tell the priest, saying: It seemeth to me, that there is the plague of leprosy in my house, |
| 36 El sacerdote, sin esperar a entrar en la casa para examinar la mancha, ordenará que desalojen la casa, para que no se contamine de impureza lo que hay en ella. Después entrará el sacerdote a examinar la casa. | 36 And he shall command, that they carry forth all things out of the house, before he go into it, and see whether it have the leprosy, lest all things become unclean that are in the house. And afterwards he shall go in to view the leprosy of the house. |
| 37 Si al examinarla observa el sacerdote que la mancha forma en las paredes de la casa cavidades verduzcas y rojizas que parecen hundidas en la pared, | 37 And if he see in the walls thereof as it were little dints, disfigured with paleness or redness, and lower than all the rest, |
| 38 saldrá a la puerta de la casa y la clausurará durante siete días. | 38 He shall go out of the door of the house, and forthwith shut it up seven days, |
| 39 Volverá a los siete días, y si comprueba que la mancha se ha extendido por las paredes de la casa, | 39 And returning on the seventh day, he shall look upon it. If he find that the leprosy is spread, |
| 40 mandará arrancar las piedras manchadas y arrojarlas a un lugar inmundo fuera de la ciudad. | 40 He shall command, that the stones wherein the leprosy is, be taken out, and cast without the city into an unclean place: |
| 41 Hará raspar todo el interior de la casa; y el polvo de las raspaduras lo echarán fuera de la ciudad, a un lugar inmundo. | 41 And that the house be scraped on the inside round about, and the dust of the scraping be scattered without the city into an unclean place: |
| 42 Luego tomarán otras piedras y las pondrán en el lugar de las primeras. Y revocarán la casa con argamasa nueva. | 42 And that other stones be laid in the place of them that were taken away, and the house be plastered with other mortar. |
| 43 Si, después de haber arrancado las piedras, y de haber raspado y revocado la mancha, esta vuelve a extenderse por la casa, | 43 But if, after the stones be taken out, and the dust scraped off, and it be plastered with other earth, |
| 44 el sacerdote entrará de nuevo; y si comprueba que la mancha se ha extendido por la casa, es un caso de lepra maligna en la casa, y esta es impura. | 44 The priest going in perceive that the leprosy is returned, and the walls full of spots, it is a lasting leprosy, and the house is unclean: |
| 45 Se derribará la casa. Sus piedras, sus maderas y todos los escombros serán sacados fuera de la ciudad a un lugar inmundo. | 45 And they shall destroy it forthwith, and shall cast the stones and timber thereof, and all the dust without the town into an unclean place. |
| 46 Quien entre en esa casa mientras está clausurada quedará impuro hasta la tarde. | 46 He that entereth into the house when it is shut, shall be unclean until evening, |
| 47 El que duerma en ella habrá de lavar sus vestidos; y también el que coma en ella habrá de lavarlos. | 47 And he that sleepeth in it, and eateth any thing, shall wash his clothes. |
| 48 Pero si el sacerdote al entrar comprueba que, después de revocada la casa, la mancha no se ha extendido por ella, la declarará pura: se ha curado del mal. | 48 But if the priest going in perceive that the leprosy is not spread in the house, after it was plastered again, he shall purify it, it being cured, |
| 49 Entonces, para ofrecer por la casa un sacrificio expiatorio, tomará dos pájaros, madera de cedro, púrpura escarlata e hisopo; | 49 And for the purification thereof he shall take two sparrows, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: |
| 50 degollará uno de los pájaros en una vasija de barro sobre agua corriente | 50 And having immolated one sparrow In an earthen vessel over living waters, |
| 51 y, tomando la madera de cedro, el hisopo y la púrpura escarlata, con el pájaro vivo, los mojará en la sangre del pájaro degollado sobre agua corriente; y hará siete aspersiones sobre la casa. | 51 He shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living sparrow, and shall dip all in the blood of the sparrow that is immolated, and in the living water, and he shall sprinkle the house seven times: |
| 52 Hará la expiación en favor de la casa con la sangre del pájaro, con el agua viva, el pájaro vivo, la madera de cedro, el hisopo y la lana escarlata, | 52 And shall purify it as well with the blood of the sparrow, as with the living water, and with the living sparrow, and with the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet. |
| 53 y soltará el pájaro vivo fuera de la ciudad, en el campo. De este modo hará expiación por la casa, la cual quedará pura. | 53 And when he hath let go the sparrow to fly freely away into the field, he shall pray for the house, and it shall be rightly cleansed. |
| 54 Esta es la ley para toda clase de lepra o de tiña, | 54 This is the law of every kind of leprosy and stroke. |
| 55 para la lepra de vestidos y de casas, | 55 Of the leprosy of garments and houses, |
| 56 para tumores, erupciones y manchas blanquecinas, | 56 Of a scar and of blisters breaking out, of a shining spot, and when the colours are diversely changed: |
| 57 y para instruir sobre los casos de impureza y los casos de pureza. Esta es la ley de la lepra». | 57 That it may be known when a thing is clean or unclean. |
