Deuteronomio 34

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Moisés subió de las Estepas de Moab al monte Nebo, cumbre del Pisgá, frente a Jericó, y Yahveh le mostró la tierra entera: Galaad hasta Dan,	1 Then, leaving the Plains of Moab, Moses went up Mount Nebo, the peak of Pisgah opposite Jericho,and Yahweh showed him the whole country: Gilead as far as Dan,
2 todo Neftalí, la tierra de Efraím y de Manasés, toda la tierra de Judá, hasta el mar Occidental,	2 the whole of Naphtali, the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, the whole country of Judah as far as theWestern Sea,
3 el Négueb, la vega del valle de Jericó, ciudad de las palmeras, hasta Soar.	3 the Negeb, and the region of the Val ey of Jericho, city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.
4 Y Yahveh le dijo: «Esta es la tierra que bajo juramento prometí a Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, diciendo: A tu descendencia se la daré. Te dejo verla con tus ojos, pero no pasarás a ella».	4 Yahweh said to him, 'This is the country which I promised on oath to give to Abraham, Isaac andJacob, saying: I shal give it to your descendants. I have al owed you to see it for yourself, but you wil not crossinto it.'
5 Allí murió Moisés, servidor de Yahveh, en el país de Moab, como había dispuesto Yahveh.	5 There in the country of Moab, Moses, servant of Yahweh, died as Yahweh decreed;
6 Le enterró en el Valle, en el País de Moab, frente a Bet Peor. Nadie hasta hoy ha conocido su tumba.	6 he buried him in the val ey, in the country of Moab, opposite Beth-Peor; but to this day no one hasever found his grave.
7 Tenía Moisés 120 años cuando murió; y no se había apagado su ojo ni se había perdido su vigor.	7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye undimmed, his vigour unimpaired.
8 Los israelitas lloraron a Moisés treinta días en las Estepas de Moab; cumplieron así los días de llanto por el duelo de Moisés.	8 The Israelites wept for Moses on the Plains of Moab for thirty days. The days of weeping for themourning rites of Moses came to an end.
9 Josué, hijo de Nun, estaba lleno del espíritu de sabiduría, porque Moisés le había impuesto las manos. A él obedecieron los israelitas, cumpliendo la orden que Yahveh había dado a Moisés.	9 Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him, and himthe Israelites obeyed, carrying out the order which Yahweh had given to Moses.
10 No ha vuelto a surgir en Israel un profeta como Moisés, a quien Yahveh trabata cara a cara,	10 Since then, there has never been such a prophet in Israel as Moses, the man whom Yahweh knewface to face.
11 nadie como él en todas las señales y prodigios que Yahveh le envió a realizar en el país de Egipto, contra Faraón, todos sus siervos y todo su país,	11 What signs and wonders Yahweh caused him to perform in Egypt against Pharaoh, al his servantsand his whole country!
12 y en la mano tan fuerte y el gran terror que Moisés puso por obra a los ojos de todo Israel.	12 How mighty the hand and great the fear that Moses wielded in the eyes of al Israel!
