A Psalm of David himself. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has performed wonders. His right hand has accomplished salvation for him, with his holy arm. | 1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. |
The Lord has made known his salvation. He has revealed his justice in the sight of the nations. | 2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne. |
He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. | 3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about. |
Sing joyfully to God, all the earth. Sing and exult, and sing psalms. | 4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled. |
Sing psalms to the Lord with stringed instruments, with strings and the voice of a psalmist, | 5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. |
with subtle wind instruments and the voice of woodwinds. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king. | 6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. |
Let the sea be moved and all its fullness, the whole world and all who dwell in it. | 7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. |
The rivers will clap their hands, the mountains will exult together, | 8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD. |
before the presence of the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the whole world with justice, and the peoples with fairness. | 9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. |
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. |
