NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The Lamb then broke the seventh seal, and there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.	1 All'apertura del settimo sigillo si fece silenzio in cielo per circa mezz'ora.
2 Next I saw seven trumpets being given to the seven angels who stand in the presence of God.	2 Quindi vidi che ai sette angeli ritti davanti a Dio furono date sette trombe.
3 Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. A large quantity of incense wasgiven to him to offer with the prayers of al the saints on the golden altar that stood in front of the throne;	3 Poi un altro angelo s'appressò con in mano un braciere d'oro e si pose al lato dell'altare. Gli fu dato una gran quantità d'incenso, affinché l'offrisse, quale simbolo delle preghiere dei santi, sull'altare d'oro antistante al trono.
4 and so from the angel's hand the smoke of the incense went up in the presence of God and with it theprayers of the saints.	4 Salì verso Dio il fumo dell'incenso, simbolo delle preghiere dei santi, dalla mano dell'angelo.
5 Then the angel took the censer and fil ed it from the fire of the altar, which he then hurled down onto theearth; immediately there came peals of thunder and flashes of lightning, and the earth shook.	5 Poi l'angelo prese il braciere, lo riempì con il fuoco dell'altare e lo gettò sulla terra; ne seguirono tuoni, clamori, lampi e scosse di terremoto.
6 The seven angels that had the seven trumpets now made ready to sound them.	6 E i sette angeli con le sette trombe si disposero a dar fiato alle trombe.
7 The first blew his trumpet and, with that, hail and fire, mixed with blood, were hurled on the earth: a thirdof the earth was burnt up, and a third of al trees, and every blade of grass was burnt.	7 Il primo suonò la sua tromba: vi fu grandine con fuoco mescolato a sangue che cadde sulla terra; la terza parte della terra rimase bruciata, la terza parte degli alberi rimase bruciata e ogni specie di piante rimase bruciata.
8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and it was as though a great mountain blazing with fire was hurledinto the sea: a third of the sea turned into blood,	8 Il secondo angelo suonò la sua tromba: come una enorme massa incandescente cadde nel mare; la terza parte del mare diventò sangue,
9 a third of al the living things in the sea were kil ed, and a third of all ships were destroyed.	9 per cui la terza parte degli esseri marini dotati di vita morì e la terza parte delle navi perì.
10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a huge star fel from the sky, burning like a ball of fire, and it felon a third of all rivers and on the springs of water;	10 Il terzo angelo suonò la sua tromba: cadde dal cielo una stella enorme, che bruciava come una fiaccola, e cadde sulla terza parte dei fiumi e sulle sorgenti d'acqua.
11 this was the star called Wormwood, and a third of al water turned to wormwood, so that many peopledied; the water had become so bitter.	11 Il nome della stella è Assenzio; difatti la terza parte delle acque si mutò in assenzio e molti uomini morirono per l'acqua diventata amara.
12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of thestars were blasted, so that the light went out of a third of them and the day lost a third of its il umination, andlikewise the night.	12 Il quarto angelo suonò la sua tromba: fu colpita la terza parte del sole, la terza parte della luna e la terza parte delle stelle, in modo che s'offuscò la terza parte di loro e così il giorno non brillava per una sua terza parte e lo stesso la notte.
13 In my vision, I heard an eagle, cal ing aloud as it flew high overhead, 'Disaster, disaster, disaster, onal the people on earth at the sound of the other three trumpets which the three angels have yet to blow!'	13 Udii poi in visione un'aquila, che volava allo zenit, dire a gran voce: "Guai, guai, guai agli abitanti della terra per i rimanenti squilli di tromba dei tre angeli che s'appressano a suonare!".
