Revelation 20

1 Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormouschain.	1 E vidi scendere dal cielo un Angelo che aveva la chiave dell'abisso e una gran catena in mano.
2 He overpowered the dragon, that primeval serpent which is the devil and Satan, and chained him upfor a thousand years.	2 Egli afferrò il dragone, l'antico serpente, cioè il diavolo, satana, e lo incatenò per mille anni,
3 He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would notlead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed. At the end of that time he must be released,but only for a short while.	3 e lo precipitò nell'abisso e chiuse e sigillò sopra di lui, perchè non potesse più sedurre le nazioni, se non finiti i mille anni, dopo i quali deve essere disciolto per poco tempo.
4 Then I saw thrones, where they took their seats, and on them was conferred the power to givejudgement. I saw the souls of al who had been beheaded for having witnessed for Jesus and for havingpreached God's word, and those who refused to worship the beast or his statue and would not accept the brand-mark on their foreheads or hands; they came to life, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.	4 Poi vidi dei troni e chi vi stava era incaricato di pronunziare il giudizio, e (vidi) le anime di coloro che furon decollati a cagione della testimonianza resa a Gesù e della parola di Dio, e quelli che non avevan adorata la bestia, nè l'imagine di lei, nè avevan ricevuta in fronte o nelle mani la sua impronta, e questi vissero e regnarono con Cristo per mille anni.
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over; this is the firstresurrection.	5 Ma gli altri morti non tornarono alla vita, finché non furon compiti i mille anni. Questa è la prima risurrezione.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection; the second death has no power overthem but they wil be priests of God and of Christ and reign with him for a thousand years.	6 Beato e santo chi partecipa alla prima risurrezione: sopra questi non ha potere la morte seconda; ma saran sacerdoti di Dio e di Cristo, e regneranno con lui per mille anni.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison	7 E finiti i mille anni, satana sarà sciolto e uscirà dalla sua prigione a sedurre le nazioni che sono ai quattro angoli della terra, Gog e Magog, per adunarle a battaglia: il loro numero è come la rena del mare.
8 and wil come out to lead astray all the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, andmobilise them for war, his armies being as many as the sands of the sea.	8 E si stesero sulla superfìcie della terra ed assediarono l'accampamento dei santi, la città diletta.
9 They came swarming over the entire country and besieged the camp of the saints, which is thebeloved City. But fire rained down on them from heaven and consumed them.	9 Ma Dio fece cadere dal cielo il fuoco e li divorò. Il diavolo, loro seduttore, fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco e di zolfo, dove era anche la bestia
10 Then the devil, who led them astray, was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast andthe false prophet are, and their torture wil not come to an end, day or night, for ever and ever.	10 e il falso profeta; e saran tormentati giorno e notte nei secoli dei secoli.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. In his presence, earth and skyvanished, leaving no trace.	11 Poi vidi un gran trono fulgido, e sopra ci sedeva uno davanti al quale fuggi la terra e il cielo, e non ci fu più posto per loro.
12 I saw the dead, great and smal alike, standing in front of his throne while the books lay open. Andanother book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from what was written in thebooks, as their deeds deserved.	12 E vidi i morti, grandi e piccoli, stare davanti al trono. E furono aperti i libri: ed un altro libro fu aperto, quello della vita, e i morti furono giudicati secondo quel che stava, scritto nei libri e secondo le loro opere.
13 The sea gave up all the dead who were in it;	13 E il mare diede i suoi morti, e la morte e l'inferno diedero i loro morti, e ognuno fu giudicato secondo le sue opere.
14 Death and Hades were emptied of the dead that were in them; and every one was judged as hisdeeds deserved. Then Death and Hades were hurled into the burning lake. This burning lake is the seconddeath;	14 Poi l'inferno e la morte furon gettati nello stagno di fuoco. Questa è la morte seconda.
15 and anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was hurled into the burninglake.	15 E chi non fu trovato scritto nel libro della vita fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco.
