Revelation 20

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormouschain.	1 Quindi vidi discendere dal cielo un angelo con in mano la chiave dell'Abisso e una grossa catena.
2 He overpowered the dragon, that primeval serpent which is the devil and Satan, and chained him upfor a thousand years.	2 Afferrò il dragone, il serpente antico, quello che è chiamato il diavolo o Satana, e l'incatenò per mille anni;
3 He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would notlead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed. At the end of that time he must be released,but only for a short while.	3 quindi, gettatolo nell'Abisso, chiuse e vi pose il sigillo, affinché non potesse più sedurre le genti sino al compimento dei mille anni, quando dovrà essere sciolto, ma per breve tempo.
4 Then I saw thrones, where they took their seats, and on them was conferred the power to givejudgement. I saw the souls of al who had been beheaded for having witnessed for Jesus and for havingpreached God's word, and those who refused to worship the beast or his statue and would not accept the brand-mark on their foreheads or hands; they came to life, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.	4 Apparvero poi dei seggi; a quelli che vi si assisero fu data potestà di giudicare; vidi, inoltre, le anime di coloro che sono stati decapitati a causa della testimonianza di Gesù e la parola di Dio, come anche le anime di quelli che non hanno adorato la bestia e la sua immagine, né hanno ricevuto il marchio sulla fronte o sulla mano: risuscitati, entrarono con Cristo nel regno millenario.
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over; this is the firstresurrection.	5 Ma gli altri morti non risuscitarono prima del compimento dei mille anni. Questa è la prima risurrezione.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection; the second death has no power overthem but they wil be priests of God and of Christ and reign with him for a thousand years.	6 Beati e santi coloro che hanno parte alla prima risurrezione: su di loro la seconda morte non ha potere; saranno sacerdoti di Dio e del Cristo e regneranno con lui per mille anni.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison	7 Una volta compiuti i mille anni, Satana sarà lasciato libero dal carcere
8 and wil come out to lead astray all the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, andmobilise them for war, his armies being as many as the sands of the sea.	8 e uscirà ad ingannare le genti dei quattro angoli della terra, cioè Gog e Magog, convocandoli per la guerra; il loro numero uguaglia l'arena del mare.
9 They came swarming over the entire country and besieged the camp of the saints, which is thebeloved City. But fire rained down on them from heaven and consumed them.	9 Saliti sull'altipiano della terra, presero d'assalto l'accampamento dei santi e la città diletta. Ma scese dal cielo da parte di Dio un fuoco che li divorò.
10 Then the devil, who led them astray, was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast andthe false prophet are, and their torture wil not come to an end, day or night, for ever and ever.	10 Il diavolo, loro seduttore, fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco e zolfo, proprio dove si trovano la bestia e lo pseudo profeta. E saranno tormentati giorno e notte, nei secoli dei secoli.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. In his presence, earth and skyvanished, leaving no trace.	11 Vidi poi un trono bianco, molto grande: davanti a Colui che sedeva su di esso, fuggirono il cielo e la terra e il loro posto non si trovò più.
12 I saw the dead, great and smal alike, standing in front of his throne while the books lay open. Andanother book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from what was written in thebooks, as their deeds deserved.	12 I morti, grandi e piccoli, stavano davanti al trono, mentre venivano aperti dei libri; e un altro libro fu aperto, quello della vita. I morti venivano giudicati in base a quanto stava scritto nei libri, secondo le loro opere.
13 The sea gave up all the dead who were in it;	13 Infatti, dopo che il mare ebbe dato i suoi morti e la Morte e l'Ade ebbero dato i loro morti, furono giudicati singolarmente secondo le loro opere.
14 Death and Hades were emptied of the dead that were in them; and every one was judged as hisdeeds deserved. Then Death and Hades were hurled into the burning lake. This burning lake is the seconddeath;	14 La Morte e l'Ade furono gettati nello stagno del fuoco. Questa è la seconda morte, lo stagno del fuoco.
15 and anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was hurled into the burninglake.	15 Quindi, chi non si trovò scritto nel libro della vita fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco.
