1 Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormouschain.	1 וָאֵרֶא מַלְאָךְ יוֹרֵד מִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם וּבְיָדוֹ מַפְתֵּחַ הַתְּהוֹם וְכֶבֶל גָּדוֹל
2 He overpowered the dragon, that primeval serpent which is the devil and Satan, and chained him upfor a thousand years.	2 וַיִּתְפֹּשׂ אֶת־הַתַּנִּין אֶת־הַנָּחָשׁ הַקַּדְמוֹנִי הוּא הַמַּלְשִׁין וְהוּא הַשָּׂטָן וַיַּאַסְרֵהוּ לְאֶלֶף שָׁנִים
3 He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would notlead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed. At the end of that time he must be released,but only for a short while.	3 וַיַּשְׁלִיכֵהוּ בַתְּהוֹם וַיִּסְגֹּר בַּעֲדוֹ וַיַּחְתֹּם עָלָיו לְמַעַן לֹא־יַדִּיחַ עוֹד אֶת־הַגּוֹיִם עַד־כְּלוֹת אֶלֶף הַשָּׁנִים וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן יֻתַּר לִזְמַן מִצְעָר
4 Then I saw thrones, where they took their seats, and on them was conferred the power to givejudgement. I saw the souls of al who had been beheaded for having witnessed for Jesus and for havingpreached God's word, and those who refused to worship the beast or his statue and would not accept the brand-mark on their foreheads or hands; they came to life, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.	4 וָאֵרֶא כִסְאוֹת וַיֵּשְׁבוּ עֲלֵיהֶם וְהַמִּשְׁפָּט נִתַּן בְּיָדָם וְנַפְשׁוֹת הַהֲרוּגִים עַל־עֵדוּת יֵשׁוּעַ וְעַל־דְּבַר הָאֱלֹהִים וַאֲשֶׁר לֹא הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַחַיָּה וּלְצַלְמָהּ וְלֹא קִבְּלוּ אֶת־תָּוָהּ עַל־מִצְחוֹתָם וְעַל־יָדָם וַיָּקוּמוּ וַיִּחְיוּ וַיִּמְלְכוּ עִם־הַמָּשִׁיחַ אֶלֶף שָׁנִים
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over; this is the firstresurrection.	5 וּשְׁאָר הַמֵּתִים לֹא־קָמוּ לַחַיִּים עַד־כְּלוֹת אֶלֶף הַשָּׁנִים זֹאת הִיא הַתְּחִיָּה הָרִאשׁוֹנָה
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection; the second death has no power overthem but they wil be priests of God and of Christ and reign with him for a thousand years.	6 אַשְׁרֵי הָאִישׁ וְקָדוֹשׁ הוּא אֲשֶׁר־חֶלְקוֹ לָקוּם בַּתְּחִיָּה הָרִאשׁוֹנָה בָּאֵלֶּה לֹא־יִשְׁלֹט הַמָּוֶת הַשֵּׁנִי כִּי אִם־יִהְיוּ כֹּהֲנִים לֵאלֹהִים וְלִמְשִׁיחוֹ וְיִמְלְכוּ אִתּוֹ אֶלֶף שָׁנִים
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison	7 וְאַחֲרֵי כְלוֹת אֶלֶף הַשָּׁנִים יֻתַּר הַשָּׂטָן מִבֵּית מִשְׁמָרוֹ
8 and wil come out to lead astray all the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, andmobilise them for war, his armies being as many as the sands of the sea.	8 וְיָצָא לְהַדִּיחַ אֶת־הַגּוֹיִם בְּאַרְבַּע כַּנְפוֹת הָאָרֶץ אֶת־גּוֹג וּמָגוֹג וּלְקַבְּצָם לַמִּלְחָמָה אֲשֶׁר מִסְפָּרָם כְּחוֹל הַיָּם
9 They came swarming over the entire country and besieged the camp of the saints, which is thebeloved City. But fire rained down on them from heaven and consumed them.	9 וַיַּעֲלוּ עַל־מֶרְחֲבֵי אֶרֶץ וַיָּסֹבּוּ אֶת־מַחֲנֵה הַקְּדשִׁים וְאֶת־הָעִיר הַחֲבִיבָה וַתֵּרֶד אֵשׁ מֵאֵת הָאֱלֹהִים מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם וַתֹּאכַל אֹתָם
10 Then the devil, who led them astray, was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast andthe false prophet are, and their torture wil not come to an end, day or night, for ever and ever.	10 וְהַשָּׂטָן אֲשֶׁר הִדִּיחָם הֻשְׁלַךְ בַּאֲגַם־אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם גַּם הַחַיָּה וּנְבִיא הַשָּׁקֶר וְיֻסְּרוּ יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה לְעוֹלְמֵי־עוֹלָמִים
11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. In his presence, earth and skyvanished, leaving no trace.	11 וָאֵרֶא כִּסֵּא לָבָן וְגָדוֹל וְאֶת־הַיּשֵׁב עָלָיו אֲשֶׁר מִפָּנָיו נָסוּ אֶרֶץ וְשָׁמָיִם וְלֹא־נִמְצָא לָהֶם מָקוֹם
12 I saw the dead, great and smal alike, standing in front of his throne while the books lay open. Andanother book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from what was written in thebooks, as their deeds deserved.	12 וָאֵרֶא אֶת־הַמֵּתִים הַקְּטַנִּים עִם־הַגְּדֹלִים עֹמְדִים לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים וּסְפָרִים נִפְתָּחִים וַיִּפָּתַח סֵפֶר אַחֵר אֲשֶׁר־הוּא סֵפֶר הַחַיִּים וַיִּשָּׁפְטוּ הַמֵּתִים עַל־פִּי הַכָּתוּב בַּסְּפָרִים כְּמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם
13 The sea gave up all the dead who were in it;	13 וַיִּתֵּן הַיָּם אֶת־מֵתָיו וְהַמָּוֶת וְהַשְּׁאוֹל נָתְנוּ אֶת־מֵתֵיהֶם וַיִּשָּׁפְטוּ אִישׁ אִישׁ כְּמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם
14 Death and Hades were emptied of the dead that were in them; and every one was judged as hisdeeds deserved. Then Death and Hades were hurled into the burning lake. This burning lake is the seconddeath;	14 וְהַמָּוֶת וְהַשְּׁאוֹל הֻשְׁלְכוּ בַאֲגַם־הָאֵשׁ וְהוּא הַמָּוֶת הַשֵּׁנִי
15 and anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was hurled into the burninglake.	15 וְכָל־אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־נִמְצָא כָתוּב בְּסֵפֶר הַחַיִּים הֻשְׁלַךְ בַּאֲגַם־הָאֵשׁ
