Revelation 20

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormouschain.	1 POI vidi un angelo, che scendeva dal cielo, ed avea la chiave dell’abisso, ed una grande catena in mano.
2 He overpowered the dragon, that primeval serpent which is the devil and Satan, and chained him upfor a thousand years.	2 Ed egli prese il dragone, il serpente antico, che è il Diavolo e Satana, il qual seduce tutto il mondo, e lo legò per mille anni.
3 He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would notlead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed. At the end of that time he must be released,but only for a short while.	3 E lo gettò nell’abisso, il quale egli serrò e suggellò sopra esso; acciocchè non seducesse più le genti, finchè fossero compiuti i mille anni; e poi appresso ha da essere sciolto per un poco di tempo.
4 Then I saw thrones, where they took their seats, and on them was conferred the power to givejudgement. I saw the souls of al who had been beheaded for having witnessed for Jesus and for havingpreached God's word, and those who refused to worship the beast or his statue and would not accept the brand-mark on their foreheads or hands; they came to life, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.	4 Poi vidi de’ troni, e sopra quelli si misero a sedere de’ personaggi, a’ quali fu dato il giudicio; vidi ancora le anime di coloro che erano stati decollati per la testimonianza di Gesù, e per la parola di Dio; e che non aveano adorata la bestia, nè la sua immagine; e non aveano preso il suo marchio in su le lor fronti, e in su la lor mano; e costoro tornarono in vita, e regnarono con Cristo que’ mille anni.
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over; this is the firstresurrection.	5 E il rimanente dei morti non tornò in vita, finchè fossero compiuti i mille anni. Questa è la prima risurrezione.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection; the second death has no power overthem but they wil be priests of God and of Christ and reign with him for a thousand years.	6 Beato e santo è colui che ha parte nella prima risurrezione; sopra costoro non ha podestà la morte seconda; ma saranno sacerdoti di Dio e di Cristo; e regneranno con lui mille anni.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison	7 E QUANDO que’ mille anni saranno compiuti, Satana sarà sciolto dalla sua prigione, ed uscirà per sedurre le genti, che sono a’ quattro canti della terra, Gog e Magog, per radunarle in battaglia; il numero delle quali è come la rena del mare.
8 and wil come out to lead astray all the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, andmobilise them for war, his armies being as many as the sands of the sea.	8 E saliranno in su la distesa della terra, e intornieranno il campo de’ santi, e la diletta città.
9 They came swarming over the entire country and besieged the camp of the saints, which is thebeloved City. But fire rained down on them from heaven and consumed them.	9 Ma dal cielo scenderà del fuoco, mandato da Dio, e le divorerà.
10 Then the devil, who led them astray, was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast andthe false prophet are, and their torture wil not come to an end, day or night, for ever and ever.	10 E il Diavolo, che le ha sedotte, sarà gettato nello stagno del fuoco, e dello zolfo, dove è la bestia, e il falso profeta; e saranno tormentati giorno e notte, ne’ secoli de’ secoli
11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. In his presence, earth and skyvanished, leaving no trace.	11 POI vidi un gran trono bianco, e quel che sedeva sopra esso, d’innanzi a cui fuggì il cielo e la terra; e non fu trovato luogo per loro.
12 I saw the dead, great and smal alike, standing in front of his throne while the books lay open. Andanother book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from what was written in thebooks, as their deeds deserved.	12 Ed io vidi i morti, grandi e piccoli, che stavano ritti davanti al trono; e i libri furono aperti; e un altro libro fu aperto, che è il libro della vita; e i morti furono giudicati dalle cose scritte ne’ libri, secondo le opere loro.
13 The sea gave up all the dead who were in it;	13 E il mare rendè i morti che erano in esso; parimente la morte e l’inferno renderono i lor morti; ed essi furono giudicati, ciascuno secondo le sue opere.
14 Death and Hades were emptied of the dead that were in them; and every one was judged as hisdeeds deserved. Then Death and Hades were hurled into the burning lake. This burning lake is the seconddeath;	14 E la morte e l’inferno furon gettati nello stagno del fuoco. Questa è la morte seconda.
15 and anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was hurled into the burninglake.	15 E se alcuno non fu trovato scritto nel libro della vita, fu gettato nello stagno del fuoco
