Revelation 20

1 Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key of the Abyss in his hand and an enormouschain.	1 - E vidi un angelo scender dal cielo, che aveva la chiave dell'abisso e una gran catena nella sua mano.
2 He overpowered the dragon, that primeval serpent which is the devil and Satan, and chained him upfor a thousand years.	2 E afferrò il drago, l'antico serpente ch'è il diavolo e Satana, e lo legò per mille anni,
3 He hurled him into the Abyss and shut the entrance and sealed it over him, to make sure he would notlead the nations astray again until the thousand years had passed. At the end of that time he must be released,but only for a short while.	3 e lo gettò nell'abisso, e serrò e sigillò [l'abisso] sopra di lui, affinchè non seducesse più le genti, sino a che fosser compiuti i mille anni: dopo, dev'esser sciolto per un po' di tempo.
4 Then I saw thrones, where they took their seats, and on them was conferred the power to givejudgement. I saw the souls of al who had been beheaded for having witnessed for Jesus and for havingpreached God's word, and those who refused to worship the beast or his statue and would not accept the brand-mark on their foreheads or hands; they came to life, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.	4 E vidi de' troni, e si assisero su di essi, e fu dato loro di giudicare. E [vidi] le anime dei decollati per la testimonianza di Gesù e per la parola di Dio, e quelli che non avevano adorato la bestia nè la sua effigie, e non avevan ricevuto il marchio sulla fronte e sulla mano loro; e [ri] vissero e regnaron con Cristo mille anni. -
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over; this is the firstresurrection.	5 Gli altri morti non [ri] vissero [nè rivivranno], finchè non sian compiuti i mille anni. - Questa è la prima risurrezione.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection; the second death has no power overthem but they wil be priests of God and of Christ and reign with him for a thousand years.	6 Beato e santo, chi ha parte nella prima risurrezione! Su costoro la morte seconda non ha potere; ma saran sacerdoti di Dio e di Cristo, e regneranno con lui mille anni.
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison	7 E quando saran terminati i mille anni, sarà sciolto Satana dalla sua prigione, e uscirà a sedurre le nazioni che sono ai quattro canti della terra, Gog e Magog, per adunarle a battaglia: il cui numero è come la rena del mare.
8 and wil come out to lead astray all the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, andmobilise them for war, his armies being as many as the sands of the sea.	8 E salirono sul piano della terra, e circondaron l'accampamento de' santi e la città diletta.
9 They came swarming over the entire country and besieged the camp of the saints, which is thebeloved City. But fire rained down on them from heaven and consumed them.	9 E scese fuoco dal cielo e li divorò. E il diavolo loro seduttore fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco e di zolfo, dove [già sono] in bestia
10 Then the devil, who led them astray, was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast andthe false prophet are, and their torture wil not come to an end, day or night, for ever and ever.	10 e il falso profeta, e saran tormentati giorno e notte ne' secoli de' secoli.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One who was sitting on it. In his presence, earth and skyvanished, leaving no trace.	11 E vidi un gran trono bianco e quegli che c'era seduto sopra; dalla cui presenza fuggì la terra e il cielo, e non si trovò [più] posto per loro.
12 I saw the dead, great and smal alike, standing in front of his throne while the books lay open. Andanother book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged from what was written in thebooks, as their deeds deserved.	12 E vidi i morti, grandi e piccoli, in pie' davanti al trono. E furono aperti de' libri, e un altro libro fu aperto, ch'è quello della vita; e furon giudicati i morti dalle cose scritte ne' libri, secondo le opere loro.
13 The sea gave up all the dead who were in it;	13 E il mare diede i suoi morti, e la Morte e l'Orco diedero [anch'essi] i loro morti, e furon giudicati ciascuno secondo le loro opere,
14 Death and Hades were emptied of the dead that were in them; and every one was judged as hisdeeds deserved. Then Death and Hades were hurled into the burning lake. This burning lake is the seconddeath;	14 e la Morte e l'Orco furon gettati nello stagno di fuoco. È questa la morte seconda: [lo stagno di fuoco].
15 and anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was hurled into the burninglake.	15 E chiunque non fu trovato scritto nel libro della vita, fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco.
