1 After this, I saw another angel come down from heaven, with great authority given to him; the earthshone with his glory.	1 Ezek után egy másik angyalt láttam leszállni az égből, akinek nagy hatalma volt, és a föld felragyogott dicsőségétől .
2 At the top of his voice he shouted, 'Babylon has fal en, Babylon the Great has fallen, and has becomethe haunt of devils and a lodging for every foul spirit and dirty, loathsome bird.	2 Hangos szóval így kiáltott: »Elesett, elesett a nagy Babilon , démonok lakóhelyévé lett, és minden tisztátalan szellem tanyájává, minden tisztátalan és gyűlöletes állat lakóhelyévé.
3 Al the nations have drunk deep of the wine of her prostitution; every king on the earth has prostitutedhimself with her, and every merchant grown rich through her debauchery.'	3 Mert féktelen paráznasága borából ivott minden nemzet; s a föld királyai paráználkodtak vele , a föld kereskedői az ő gyönyörűségeinek bőségéből lettek gazdagokká!«
4 Another voice spoke from heaven; I heard it say, 'Come out, my people, away from her, so that you donot share in her crimes and have the same plagues to bear.	4 Aztán egy másik hangot hallottam az égből, amely így szólt: »Menjetek ki onnan, én népem, hogy részesei ne legyetek az ő gonoszságainak, és ne legyen részetek az őt érő csapásokban,
5 Her sins have reached up to the sky, and God has her crimes in mind: treat her as she has treatedothers.	5 mert bűnei az égig hatoltak , és Isten megemlékezett gonoszságairól.
6 She must be paid double the amount she exacted. She is to have a doubly strong cup of her ownmixture.	6 Fizessetek neki vissza, mint ahogy ő is megfizetett nektek, és kétszeresen viszonozzátok cselekedeteit; a pohárba, amelybe ő töltött, töltsetek neki kétannyit!
7 Every one of her pomps and orgies is to be matched by a torture or an agony. I am enthroned asqueen, she thinks; I am no widow and wil never know bereavement.	7 Amennyire dicsőítette önmagát és gyönyörűségben volt, annyi gyötrelmet és gyászt adjatok neki, mert így szól szívében: ‘Mint királyné, ülök a trónon, és nem vagyok özvegy , gyászt nem fogok látni!’
8 For that, in one day, the plagues wil fal on her: disease and mourning and famine. She wil be burnedto the ground. The Lord God who has condemned her is mighty.'	8 Ezért egy napon jönnek rá a csapások , a halál, gyász és éhség, és tűz fogja megégetni; mert erős az Isten , aki őt megítéli!«
9 'There will be mourning and weeping for her by the kings of the earth who have prostituted themselveswith her and held orgies with her. They see the smoke as she burns,	9 Sírni és gyászolni fognak fölötte a föld királyai, akik paráználkodtak vele, és gyönyörűségekben éltek , amikor látják majd füstjét, amint ég.
10 while they keep at a safe distance through fear of her anguish. They wil say: Mourn, mourn for thisgreat city, Babylon, so powerful a city, in one short hour your doom has come upon you.	10 Elhúzódnak tőle, félve gyötrelmeitől, és így szólnak: »Jaj, jaj, az a nagy város! Babilon, az erős város! Mert egy óra alatt eljött a te ítéleted!«
11 'There wil be weeping and distress over her among al the traders of the earth when no one is left tobuy their cargoes of goods;	11 A föld kereskedői sírni és gyászolni fognak fölötte , mert senki sem veszi meg többé áruikat:
12 their stocks of gold and silver, jewels and pearls, linen and purple and silks and scarlet; al thesandalwood, every piece in ivory or fine wood, in bronze or iron or marble;	12 arany és ezüst árut, drágakövet, gyöngyöt, gyolcsot, bíbort, selymet és karmazsint, semmiféle tujafát, sem elefántcsont-edényt, és egyetlen nemes fából, rézből, vasból és márványból való edényt sem,
13 the cinnamon and spices, the myrrh and ointment and incense; wine, oil, flour and corn; their stocksof cattle, sheep, horses and chariots, their slaves and their human cargo.	13 sem a fahéjat, fűszert és illatszereket, kenetet, tömjént, bort, olajat, lisztlángot, búzát, barmokat, juhokat, lovakat, kocsikat, rabszolgákat és emberi személyeket.
14 'Al the fruits you had set your hearts on have failed you; gone for ever, never to return again, is yourlife of magnificence and ease.	14 A lelked számára kívánatos gyümölcsök eltávoztak tőled, és minden kövérség és kiválóság elveszett tőled, és többé már nem találják meg!
15 'The traders who had made a fortune out of her wil be standing at a safe distance through fear of heranguish, mourning and weeping.	15 Mindazok, akik ezekkel kereskedtek, s akik meggazdagodtak, megállnak tőle távol, gyötrelmeitől félve, sírva és gyászolva ,
16 They wil be saying: Mourn, mourn for this great city; for al the linen and purple and scarlet that youwore, for al your finery of gold and jewels and pearls;	16 és így szólnak: »Jaj, jaj, az a nagy város, amely gyolcsba, bíborba és skarlátba öltözött, arannyal, drágakővel és gyöngyökkel ékes volt,
17 your huge riches are al destroyed within a single hour.' Al the captains and seafaring men, sailorsand all those who make a living from the sea kept a safe distance,	17 és egy óra alatt odalett ennyi gazdagság!« Minden hajókormányos és mindenki, aki a vizeket járja, a hajósok, és akik a tengeren dolgoznak , megállnak távol,
18 watching the smoke as she burned, and crying out, 'Has there ever been a city as great as this!'	18 és így kiáltanak, amikor látják égésének helyét: »Melyik város volt hasonló ehhez a nagy városhoz?«
19 They threw dust on their heads and said, with tears and groans: 'Mourn, mourn for this great citywhose lavish living has made a fortune for every owner of a sea-going ship, ruined within a single hour.	19 Majd port hintenek fejükre, és sírva és gyászolva így kiáltanak : »Jaj, jaj, az a nagy város, amelynek kincseiből meggazdagodtak mindnyájan, akiknek hajóik voltak a tengeren, az ő kincseiből; és egy óra alatt elpusztult!
20 'Now heaven, celebrate her downfall, and all you saints, apostles and prophets: God has givenjudgement for you against her.'	20 Örvendezz fölötte ó ég , és ti, szent apostolok és próféták, mert Isten kimondta fölötte az ítéletet értetek!«
21 Then a powerful angel picked up a boulder like a great mil stone, and as he hurled it into the sea, hesaid, 'That is how the great city of Babylon is going to be hurled down, never to be seen again.	21 Egy erős angyal követ vett föl, olyat, mint egy nagy malomkő, a tengerbe dobta, és ezt mondta: »Ilyen erővel döntik le Babilont, azt a nagy várost, és többé már nem találják meg!
22 Never again in you will be heard the song of harpists and minstrels, the music of flute and trumpet;never again wil craftsmen of every skill be found in you or the sound of the handmil be heard;	22 A hárfások, zenészek és fuvolások hangja és harsona nem hangzik fel többé benned; semmiféle művészet mestere nem található többé benned, és malom zörgése nem hallatszik többé benned;
23 never again wil shine the light of the lamp in you, never again wil be heard in you the voices ofbridegroom and bride. Your traders were the princes of the earth, al the nations were led astray by your sorcery.	23 és lámpavilág nem fénylik többé benned, és a vőlegénynek és menyasszonynak szava nem hangzik fel többé benned, mert kereskedőid a föld fejedelmei voltak, s a te varázslataid miatt jutott tévútra minden nemzet ;
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and all the blood that was ever shed on earth.'	24 benne található a próféták és szentek vére, és mindazoké, akiket megöltek a földön.«
