Hebrews 13

1 Continue to love each other like brothers,	1 Si conservi fra di voi la carità fraterna;
2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.	2 e non dimenticate l'ospitalità, perchè per essa alcuni ospitarono, senza saperlo, degli Angeli.
3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.	3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati, come se foste incatenati con loro, e degli afflitti, pensando che anche voi avete un corpo.
4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.	4 Siano in tutto tenute in onore le nozze e il talamo sia immacolato, perchè Dio giudicherà i fornicatori e gli adulteri.
5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,	5 Il vostro agire non sia guidato dall'avarizia, ma contentatevi di quel che avete, perchè egli ha detto: Io non ti lascerò, non ti abbandonerò.
6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?	6 Così con piena fiducia possiamo dire: Il Signore è mio aiuto, non temerò quello che mi può fare l'uomo.
7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.	7 Ricordatevi dei vostri prelati che vi annunziarono la parola di Dio: contemplando come han finita la vita, imitatene la fede.
8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.	8 Gesù Cristo ieri e oggi, egli anche nei secoli.
9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.	9 Non vi lasciate raggirare da varie straniere dottrine, perchè è ottima cosa che il cuore sia confortato dalla grazia e non dai cibi, che giovaron nulla a quelli che li distinsero.
10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.	10 Noi abbiamo un altare al quale non possono partecipare quelli che servono al Tabernacolo.
11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,	11 Or siccome i corpi degli animali, il cui sangue è dal pontefice portato nel santuario come offerta per il peccato, son bruciati fuori degli alloggiamenti,
12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.	12 per questo appunto anche Gesù, per santificare col suo sangue il popolo, patì fuori della porta.
13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.	13 Usciamo adunque dagli alloggiamenti per andare a lui, portando la sua ignominia;
14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.	14 perché non abbiamo quaggiù città permanente, ma andiamo cercando la futura.
15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.	15 Per lui adunque offriamo sempre a Dio il sacrificio di lode, cioè il frutto delle labbra che celebrano il suo nome
16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.	16 e non vi dimenticate della beneficenza e della comunione di carità, perchè con tali vittime si rende propizio Dio.
17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.	17 Obbedite ai vostri superiori e state loro sottomessi, perchè essi vigilano, dovendo rendere conto delle anime vostre; procurate che lo facciano con gioia e non sospirando, perchè ciò non vi gioverebbe a nulla.
18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.	18 Pregate per noi, perchè siamo convinti di avere una buona coscienza, desiderando di condurci bene in ogni cosa.
19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.	19 E tanto più vi prego di farlo; affinchè quanto prima vi possa essere ridonato.
20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,	20 E il Dio della pace, il quale ha ritolto alla morte, pel sangue del testamento eterno, il gran pastore delle pecorelle, il Signore, il nostro Gesù Cristo,
21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 vi renda capaci d'ogni bene, in modo che voi facciate la sua volontà, mentre egli opera in voi ciò che gli è grato per Gesù Cristo, a cui è gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Così sia.
22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.	22 Vi prego, o fratelli, a prendere in buona parte le parole di esortazione, sebbene vi abbia scritto brevissimamente.
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.	23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timoteo è stato messo in libertà. Se egli vien presto, verrò con lui a vedervi.
24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.	24 Salutate tutti i vostri prelati, e tutti i santi. Vi salutano i fratelli d'Italia.
