Hebrews 13

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Continue to love each other like brothers,	1 Conserve-se entre vós a caridade fraterna.
2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.	2 Não vos esqueçais da hospitalidade, pela qual alguns, sem o saberem, hospedaram anjos.
3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.	3 Lembrai-vos dos encarcerados, como se vós mesmos estivésseis presos com eles. E dos maltratados, como se habitásseis no mesmo corpo com eles.
4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.	4 Vós todos considerai o matrimônio com respeito e conservai o leito conjugal imaculado, porque Deus julgará os impuros e os adúlteros.
5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,	5 Vivei sem avareza. Contentai-vos com o que tendes, pois Deus mesmo disse: Não te deixarei nem desampararei {Dt 31,6}.
6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?	6 Por isso é que podemos dizer com confiança: O Senhor é meu socorro, e nada tenho que temer. Que me poderá fazer o homem {Sl 117,6}?
7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.	7 Lembrai-vos de vossos guias que vos pregaram a palavra de Deus. Considerai como souberam encerrar a carreira. E imitai-lhes a fé.
8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.	8 Jesus Cristo é sempre o mesmo: ontem, hoje e por toda a eternidade.
9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.	9 Não vos deixeis desviar pela diversidade de doutrinas estranhas. É muito melhor fortificar a alma pela graça do que por alimentos que nenhum proveito trazem aos que a eles se entregam.
10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.	10 Temos um altar do qual não têm direito de comer os que se empregam no serviço do tabernáculo {mosaico}.
11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,	11 Porque, quando o sumo sacerdote levava ao santuário o sangue dos animais imolados para a expiação do pecado, os corpos desses animais eram inteiramente consumidos fora da entrada.
12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.	12 Por esta razão, Jesus, querendo purificar o povo pelo seu próprio sangue, padeceu fora das portas.
13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.	13 Saiamos, pois, a ele fora da entrada, levando a sua ignomínia.
14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.	14 Aliás, não temos aqui cidade permanente, mas vamos em busca da futura.
15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.	15 Por ele ofereçamos a Deus sem cessar sacrifícios de louvor, isto é, o fruto dos lábios que celebram o seu nome {Os 14,2}.
16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.	16 Não negligencieis a beneficência e a liberalidade. Estes são sacrifícios que agradam a Deus!
17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.	17 Sede submissos e obedecei aos que vos guiam {pois eles velam por vossas almas e delas devem dar conta}. Assim, eles o farão com alegria, e não a gemer, que isto vos seria funesto.
18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.	18 Orai por nós. Estamos persuadidos de ter a consciência em paz, pois estamos decididos a procurar o bem em tudo.
19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.	19 Com o maior encarecimento, porém, vos rogo que oreis, para que mais depressa eu vos seja restituído.
20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,	20 E o Deus da paz que, no sangue da eterna aliança, ressuscitou dos mortos o grande pastor das ovelhas, nosso Senhor Jesus,
21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 queira dispor-vos ao bem e vos conceder que cumprais,a sua vontade, realizando ele próprio em vós o que é agradável aos seus olhos, por Jesus Cristo, a quem seja dada a glória por toda a eternidade. Amém.
22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.	22 Rogo-vos, irmãos, que aceiteis de boa mente estas exortações, pois vos escrevi com brevidade.
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.	23 Sabei que nosso irmão Timóteo foi posto em liberdade; se ele voltar a tempo, irei com ele ver-vos.
24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.	24 Saudai a todos os que vos guiam e a todos os santos. Os irmãos da Itália vos saúdam.
