1 Continue to love each other like brothers,	1 - L'amor fraterno rimanga fra voi.
2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.	2 Non dimenticate l'ospitalità, poichè per via di essa alcuni ospitarono, senza saperlo, degli angeli.
3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.	3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati, come se foste compagni del carcere, e dei tormentati, pensando che anche voi avete un corpo.
4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.	4 Siano onorate le nozze in tutto, e il talamo sia senza macchia; gli impuri e gli adulteri Dio li giudicherà.
5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,	5 Senza avidità di danaro sia la vostra condotta, contentandovi di ciò che avete; poichè egli disse: «Io non ti lascerò, nè abbandonerò»;
6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?	6 talchè con piena fiducia possiamo dire: «Il Signore mi è di aiuto, io non temerò nulla; che male può farmi un uomo?».
7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.	7 Ricordatevi di quelli che sono stati a voi preposti, i quali vi hanno annunziato la parola di Dio; e considerando l'esito del loro tenor di vita, imitatene la fede.
8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.	8 Gesù Cristo è il medesimo ieri e oggi, ed è anche per i secoli.
9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.	9 Non lasciatevi trascinare da dottrine diverse e forestiere, poichè è bene che il cuore sia rinsaldato dalla grazia, e non da pratiche circa gli alimenti, che in nulla giovarono a chi le osservava.
10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.	10 Abbiamo un altare da cui non han diritto di trar cibo quelli che seguono il culto del tabernacolo.
11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,	11 Poichè i corpi delle vittime il cui sangue portato nel santuario si offre dal sommo sacerdote per i peccati, tali corpi son bruciati fuori del campo.
12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.	12 Perciò anche Gesù per santificare col suo sangue il popolo soffrì fuori della porta.
13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.	13 Usciamo dunque verso lui fuori del campo, portando gli oltraggi di lui,
14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.	14 poichè non abbiamo qui una città permanente, ma cerchiamo quella avvenire.
15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.	15 Per lui dunque offriamo continuamente a Dio un sacrifizio di lode, cioè il frutto di labbra confessanti il suo nome.
16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.	16 E non dimenticatevi di far del bene e di partecipare [il vostro ad altri]; poichè di tali sacrifizi Dio si compiace.
17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.	17 Obbedite ai vostri capi e siate sottomessi, giacchè essi vegliano per le anime vostre come ne devano render conto, affinchè con gioia lo facciano, non gemendo e sospirando, chè questo sarebbe senza alcun utile per voi.
18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.	18 Pregate per noi, poichè crediamo di avere una buona coscienza, volendo in ogni cosa condurci onestamente.
19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.	19 Sopratutto vi esorto a pregare affinchè al più presto io vi sia restituito.
20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,	20 E il Dio della pace che in virtù del sangue dell'eterno patto, ha risuscitato dai morti il gran pastore delle pecore, il Signor nostro Gesù,
21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 vi renda atti a ogni opera buona sicchè possiate fare la sua volontà, operando egli in noi ciò che è gradito a' suoi occhi, per opera di Gesù Cristo a cui sia gloria nei secoli de' secoli. Amen.
22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.	22 Vi prego, o fratelli, prendete in buona parte il discorso di esortazione, poichè vi ho scritto brevissimamente.
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.	23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timoteo è stato rilasciato; se egli verrà presto, io verrò a vedervi con lui.
24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.	24 Salutate tutti i vostri capi e tutti i santi. Vi salutano i fratelli d'Italia.
