1 Continue to love each other like brothers,	1 Si conservi tra di voi la fraterna carità.
2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.	2 E non vi dimenticate dell'ospitalità, dappoiché per questa alcuni dieder, senza saperlo, ospizio agli Angeli.
3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.	3 Ricordatevi de' carcerati, come carcerati voi insieme; e degli afflitti, coma essendo voi pure nel corpo.
4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.	4 Onorato (sia) in tutto il matrimonio, e il talamo senza macchia, imperocché i fornicatori, e gli adulteri giudicheragli Iddio.
5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,	5 Siano i costumi alieni dall'avarizia, contentatevi del presente: imperocché egli ha detto: non ti lascerò, e non ti abbandonerò:
6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?	6 Onde con fidanza diciamo: il Signore (è) mio aiuto: non temerò quel, che uomo a me faccia.
7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.	7 Abbiate memoria de' vostri prelati, i quali a voi annunziarono la parola di Dio: de' quali mirando il fine della vita, imitatene la fede.
8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.	8 Gesù Cristo ieri, e oggi: ed egli (è) anche ne' secoli.
9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.	9 Non vi lasciate aggirare da varie dottrine, e straniere. Imperocché buonissima cosa ella è il confortar il cuor mediante la grazia, non mediante que' cibi, i quali nulla giovarono a coloro, che ne praticarono l'osservanza.
10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.	10 Abbiamo un altare, a cui non hanno gius di partecipare coloro, che servono al tabernacolo.
11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,	11 Imperocché di quegli animali, il sangue de' quali è portato dal pontefice nel santo de' santi per lo peccato, i corpi sono brugiati fuora degli alloggiamenti.
12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.	12 Per la qual cosa anche Gesù, per santificare il popolo col suo sangue, patì fuori della porta.
13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.	13 Andiamo adunque a lui fuora degli alloggiamenti, portando le sue ignominie.
14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.	14 Imperocché non abbiano qui ferma città, ma andiam cercando la futura.
15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.	15 Per lui adunque oneriamo mai sempre a Dio ostia di laude, cioè, il frutto delle labbra, le quali confessino il di lui nome.
16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.	16 E non vogliate dimenticarvi della beneficenza, e della comunione di carità: imperocché con tali vittime si guadagna Iddio.
17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.	17 Siate ubbidienti a' vostri prelati, e siate ad essi soggetti (imperocché vegliano essi, come dovendo render conto delle anime vostre), affinchè ciò facciano con gaudio, e non sospirando: perché questo non è utile a voi.
18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.	18 Pregate per noi: imperocché abbiamo fidanza di avere buona coscienza, bramando di diportarci bene in tutte le cose.
19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.	19 E tanto più vi prego, che ciò facciate, affinchè io sia più presto restituito a voi:
20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,	20 E il Dio della pace, il quale ritornò da morte pel sangue del testamento eterno colui, che è il gran pastore delle pecorelle, Gesù Cristo Signor nostro,
21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 Vi renda atti a tutto il bene, affinchè la volontà di lui facciate: facendo egli in voi ciò, che a lui sia accetto per Gesù Cristo: a cui è gloria ne' secoli de' secoli. Così sia.
22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.	22 Pregovi poi, o fratelli, che prendiate in buona parte la parola di esortazione. Imperocché vi ho scritto brevissimamente.
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.	23 Sappiate, che il nostro fratello Timoteo è stato liberato: insieme col quale (se verrà presto) io vi vedrò.
24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.	24 Salutate lutti i vostri prelati, tutti i santi. Vi salutano i fratelli dell'Italia.
