Hebrews 13

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Continue to love each other like brothers,	1 L'amore fraterno sia perseverante.
2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.	2 Non dimenticate l'ospitalità: per mezzo di questa infatti alcuni, senza saperlo, ospitarono angeli.
3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.	3 Ricordatevi dei prigionieri, come se anche voi foste prigionieri con loro, e di quelli che sono maltrattati, perché anche voi siete ancora nel corpo.
4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.	4 Il matrimonio sia tenuto in onore, in tutte le cose. E il talamo sia incontaminato. Dio infatti punirà sia i fornicatori sia gli adùlteri.
5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,	5 La condotta sia lontana dall'avarizia, contenti delle cose che abbiamo al presente. Infatti egli ha detto: Io non ti lascerò mai né ti abbandonerò.
6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?	6 Cosicché possiamo dire con fiducia: Il Signore è mio aiuto, non temerò. Che cosa mi potrà fare l'uomo?
7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.	7 Ricordatevi dei vostri capi, i quali vi hanno predicato la parola di Dio e, contemplando l'esito della loro maniera di vivere, imitatene la fede.
8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.	8 Gesù Cristo è lo stesso ieri e oggi e nei secoli.
9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.	9 Non lasciatevi trasportare da dottrine varie e peregrine. E' infatti cosa buona rafforzare il cuore per mezzo della grazia, non nei cibi, che non giovarono mai a quelli che se ne sono serviti.
10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.	10 Noi abbiamo un altare, del quale non hanno potere di mangiare quelli che prestano il loro culto al tabernacolo.
11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,	11 Infatti i cadaveri degli animali, il cui sangue per il peccato viene portato nel santuario dal sommo sacerdote, vengono bruciati fuori dell'accampamento.
12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.	12 Perciò anche Gesù, per santificare il popolo mediante il proprio sangue, ha sofferto fuori della porta.
13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.	13 Usciamo dunque verso di lui fuori degli accampamenti, portando il suo obbrobrio.
14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.	14 Non abbiamo infatti qui una città permanente, ma tendiamo alla città che deve venire.
15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.	15 Dunque offriamo a Dio per mezzo di lui un sacrificio di lode continuamente, cioè un frutto delle labbra che lodano il suo nome.
16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.	16 Non dimenticatevi della beneficenza e di mettere in comune i beni: di tali sacrifici infatti Dio si diletta.
17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.	17 Lasciatevi persuadere dai vostri capi e siate sottomessi: essi infatti vegliano per le anime vostre, dovendone rendere conto. Possano fare ciò con gioia e non gemendo; questo infatti sarebbe per voi svantaggioso.
18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.	18 Pregate per noi. Infatti siamo persuasi di avere una buona coscienza, volendo in tutte le cose comportarci bene.
19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.	19 Vi esorto con più insistenza a far questo, affinché possa essere reso a voi presto.
20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,	20 Il Dio della pace che ha fatto risalire dai morti il grande Pastore delle pecore nel sangue dell'alleanza eterna, il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo,
21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 vi renda pronti a ogni opera buona, per fare la volontà sua, operando in noi ciò che piace ai suoi sguardi, per Gesù Cristo, a cui la gloria per tutti i secoli. Amen.
22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.	22 Vi prego, fratelli: sopportate il sermone di esortazione; vi ho scritto infatti brevemente.
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.	23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timoteo è stato liberato. Con lui, se verrà presto, vi vedrò.
24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.	24 Salutate i vostri capi e tutti i santi. Vi salutano quelli dall'Italia.
