1 Continue to love each other like brothers,	1 L’amore fraterno resti saldo.
2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.	2 Non dimenticate l’ospitalità; alcuni, praticandola, senza saperlo hanno accolto degli angeli.
3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.	3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati, come se foste loro compagni di carcere, e di quelli che sono maltrattati, perché anche voi avete un corpo.
4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.	4 Il matrimonio sia rispettato da tutti e il letto nuziale sia senza macchia. I fornicatori e gli adùlteri saranno giudicati da Dio.
5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,	5 La vostra condotta sia senza avarizia; accontentatevi di quello che avete, perché Dio stesso ha detto: Non ti lascerò e non ti abbandonerò.
6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?	6 Così possiamo dire con fiducia: Il Signore è il mio aiuto, non avrò paura. Che cosa può farmi l’uomo?
7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.	7 Ricordatevi dei vostri capi, i quali vi hanno annunciato la parola di Dio. Considerando attentamente l’esito finale della loro vita, imitatene la fede.
8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.	8 Gesù Cristo è lo stesso ieri e oggi e per sempre!
9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.	9 Non lasciatevi sviare da dottrine varie ed estranee, perché è bene che il cuore venga sostenuto dalla grazia e non da cibi che non hanno mai recato giovamento a coloro che ne fanno uso.
10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.	10 Noi abbiamo un altare le cui offerte non possono essere mangiate da quelli che prestano servizio nel tempio.
11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,	11 Infatti i corpi degli animali, il cui sangue viene portato nel santuario dal sommo sacerdote per l’espiazione, vengono bruciati fuori dell’accampamento.
12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.	12 Perciò anche Gesù, per santificare il popolo con il proprio sangue, subì la passione fuori della porta della città.
13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.	13 Usciamo dunque verso di lui fuori dell’accampamento, portando il suo disonore:
14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.	14 non abbiamo quaggiù una città stabile, ma andiamo in cerca di quella futura.
15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.	15 Per mezzo di lui dunque offriamo a Dio continuamente un sacrificio di lode, cioè il frutto di labbra che confessano il suo nome.
16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.	16 Non dimenticatevi della beneficenza e della comunione dei beni, perché di tali sacrifici il Signore si compiace.
17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.	17 Obbedite ai vostri capi e state loro sottomessi, perché essi vegliano su di voi e devono renderne conto, affinché lo facciano con gioia e non lamentandosi. Ciò non sarebbe di vantaggio per voi.
18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.	18 Pregate per noi; crediamo infatti di avere una buona coscienza, desiderando di comportarci bene in tutto.
19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.	19 Con maggiore insistenza poi vi esorto a farlo, perché io vi sia restituito al più presto.
20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,	20 Il Dio della pace, che ha ricondotto dai morti il Pastore grande delle pecore, in virtù del sangue di un’alleanza eterna, il Signore nostro Gesù,
21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	21 vi renda perfetti in ogni bene, perché possiate compiere la sua volontà, operando in voi ciò che a lui è gradito per mezzo di Gesù Cristo, al quale sia gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.
22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.	22 Vi esorto, fratelli, accogliete questa parola di esortazione; proprio per questo vi ho scritto brevemente.
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.	23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timòteo è stato rilasciato; se arriva abbastanza presto, vi vedrò insieme a lui.
24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.	24 Salutate tutti i vostri capi e tutti i santi. Vi salutano quelli dell’Italia.
