1 Remind them to be obedient to the officials in authority; to be ready to do good at every opportunity;	1 - Rammenta loro che siano soggetti ai magistrati in carica, ubbidiscano, siano pronti a ogni opera buona,
2 not to go slandering other people but to be peaceable and gentle, and always polite to people of al kinds.	2 non dican male di alcuno, non siano litigiosi, ma modesti, e mostrino tutta la mitezza possibile verso tutti.
3 There was a time when we too were ignorant, disobedient and misled and enslaved by different passionsand dissipations; we lived then in wickedness and malice, hating each other and hateful ourselves.	3 Eravamo anche noi una volta insensati, increduli, traviati, schiavi alle passioni e ai piaceri di ogni sorta, vivendo in malizia e invidia, detestabili e in odio gli uni agli altri.
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour for humanity were revealed,	4 Ma quando apparve la bontà e l'amore verso gli uomini di Dio Salvatore nostro,
5 it was not because of any upright actions we had done ourselves; it was for no reason except his ownfaithful love that he saved us, by means of the cleansing water of rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit	5 egli ci salvò, non per opere di giustizia fatte da noi, ma secondo la sua misericordia, mediante il lavacro di rigenerazione e un rinnovamento dello Spirito Santo,
6 which he has so generously poured over us through Jesus Christ our Saviour;	6 ch'Egli copiosamente diffuse su noi per mezzo di Cristo Gesù Salvatore nostro,
7 so that, justified by his grace, we should become heirs in hope of eternal life.	7 affinchè giustificati per la grazia di lui diventassimo, in speranza, eredi della vita eterna.
8 This is doctrine that you can rely on. I want you to be quite uncompromising in teaching all this, so thatthose who now believe in God may keep their minds constantly occupied in doing good works. Al this is good,and useful for everybody.	8 Parola di fede è questa, e su ciò voglio che tu parli con tutta sicurezza, affinchè quelli che han creduto in Dio, procurino di stare intenti alle opere buone.
9 But avoid foolish speculations, and those genealogies, and the quibbles and disputes about the Law --they are useless and futile.	9 Queste son le cose belle e utili agli uomini; ma le stolte discussioni e genealogie e contese e le controversie legali, queste sfuggile, chè sono inutili e vane.
10 If someone disputes what you teach, then after a first and a second warning, have no more to do withhim:	10 L'uomo eretico, dopo una o due ammonizioni, evitalo,
11 you wil know that anyone of that sort is warped and is self-condemned as a sinner.	11 sapendo che un siffatto s'è fuorviato, e pecca, essendo condannatore di se stesso.
12 As soon as I have sent Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to join me at Nicopolis, where I havedecided to spend the winter.	12 Quando t'avrò mandato Artema o Tichico, affrettati a venir da me qua a Nicopoli, perchè ivi ho deciso di svernare.
13 Help eagerly on their way Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, and make sure they have everything theyneed.	13 Provvedi al viaggio di Zena il giureconsulto e di Apollo, affinchè non manchi loro nulla.
14 Al our people must also learn to occupy themselves in doing good works for their practical needs, andnot to be unproductive.	14 E imparino anche i nostri ad iniziare buone opere per i bisogni urgenti, onde non siano disutili.
15 Al those who are with me send their greetings. Greetings to those who love us in the faith. Grace bewith you all.	15 Ti salutano tutti quelli che sono con me. Saluta quelli che ci amano nella fede. La grazia sia con tutti voi.
