Titus 3

NEW JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Remind them to be obedient to the officials in authority; to be ready to do good at every opportunity;	1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 not to go slandering other people but to be peaceable and gentle, and always polite to people of al kinds.	2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 There was a time when we too were ignorant, disobedient and misled and enslaved by different passionsand dissipations; we lived then in wickedness and malice, hating each other and hateful ourselves.	3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour for humanity were revealed,	4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 it was not because of any upright actions we had done ourselves; it was for no reason except his ownfaithful love that he saved us, by means of the cleansing water of rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit	5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 which he has so generously poured over us through Jesus Christ our Saviour;	6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 so that, justified by his grace, we should become heirs in hope of eternal life.	7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is doctrine that you can rely on. I want you to be quite uncompromising in teaching all this, so thatthose who now believe in God may keep their minds constantly occupied in doing good works. Al this is good,and useful for everybody.	8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9 But avoid foolish speculations, and those genealogies, and the quibbles and disputes about the Law --they are useless and futile.	9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 If someone disputes what you teach, then after a first and a second warning, have no more to do withhim:	10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
11 you wil know that anyone of that sort is warped and is self-condemned as a sinner.	11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
12 As soon as I have sent Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to join me at Nicopolis, where I havedecided to spend the winter.	12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
13 Help eagerly on their way Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, and make sure they have everything theyneed.	13 Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.
14 Al our people must also learn to occupy themselves in doing good works for their practical needs, andnot to be unproductive.	14 And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
15 Al those who are with me send their greetings. Greetings to those who love us in the faith. Grace bewith you all.	15 All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
