Titus 3

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Remind them to be obedient to the officials in authority; to be ready to do good at every opportunity;	1 Recuerda a todos que respeten a los gobernantes y a las autoridades, que les obedezcan y estén siempre dispuestos para cualquier obra buena.
2 not to go slandering other people but to be peaceable and gentle, and always polite to people of al kinds.	2 Que no injurien a nadie y sean amantes de la paz, que sean benévolos y demuestren una gran humildad con todos los hombres.
3 There was a time when we too were ignorant, disobedient and misled and enslaved by different passionsand dissipations; we lived then in wickedness and malice, hating each other and hateful ourselves.	3 Porque también nosotros antes éramos insensatos, rebeldes, extraviados, esclavos de los malos deseos y de toda clase de concupiscencias, y vivíamos en la maldad y la envidia, siendo objeto de odio y odiándonos los unos a los otros.
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour for humanity were revealed,	4 Pero cuando se manifestó la bondad de Dios, nuestro Salvador, y su amor a los hombres,
5 it was not because of any upright actions we had done ourselves; it was for no reason except his ownfaithful love that he saved us, by means of the cleansing water of rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit	5 no por las obras de justicia que habíamos realizado, sino solamente por su misericordia, él nos salvó, haciéndonos renacer por el bautismo y renovándonos por el Espíritu Santo.
6 which he has so generously poured over us through Jesus Christ our Saviour;	6 Y derramó abundantemente ese Espíritu sobre nosotros por medio de Jesucristo, nuestro Salvador,
7 so that, justified by his grace, we should become heirs in hope of eternal life.	7 a fin de que, justificados por su gracia, seamos en esperanza herederos de la Vida eterna.
8 This is doctrine that you can rely on. I want you to be quite uncompromising in teaching all this, so thatthose who now believe in God may keep their minds constantly occupied in doing good works. Al this is good,and useful for everybody.	8 Esta es una doctrina digna de la fe, y quiero que en este punto seas categórico, para que aquellos que han puesto su fe en Dios procuren destacarse por sus buenas obras. Esto sí que es bueno y provechoso para los hombres.
9 But avoid foolish speculations, and those genealogies, and the quibbles and disputes about the Law --they are useless and futile.	9 Evita, en cambio, las investigaciones insensatas, las genealogías, las polémicas y las controversias sobre la Ley: todo esto es inútil y vano.
10 If someone disputes what you teach, then after a first and a second warning, have no more to do withhim:	10 En cuanto a los que crean facciones, después de una primera y segunda advertencia, apártate de ellos:
11 you wil know that anyone of that sort is warped and is self-condemned as a sinner.	11 ya sabes que son extraviados y pecadores que se condenan a sí mismos.
12 As soon as I have sent Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to join me at Nicopolis, where I havedecided to spend the winter.	12 Cuando te mande a Artemás o a Tíquico, trata de ir a mi encuentro en Nicópolis, porque es allí donde he decidido pasar el invierno.
13 Help eagerly on their way Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, and make sure they have everything theyneed.	13 Toma todas las medidas necesarias para el viaje del abogado Zenas y de Apolo, a fin de que no les falte nada.
14 Al our people must also learn to occupy themselves in doing good works for their practical needs, andnot to be unproductive.	14 Los nuestros deben aprender a destacarse por sus buenas obras, también en lo que se refiere a las necesidades de este mundo: de esa manera, su vida no será estéril.
15 Al those who are with me send their greetings. Greetings to those who love us in the faith. Grace bewith you all.	15 Recibe el saludo de todos los que están conmigo. Saluda a aquellos que nos aman en la fe. La gracia del Señor esté con todos ustedes.
