2 Timothy 4

1 Before God and before Christ Jesus who is to be judge of the living and the dead, I charge you, in thename of his appearing and of his kingdom:	1 Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Gesù Cristo, che ha da venire a giudicare i vivi e i morti, per la sua venuta e per il suo regno:
2 proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, giveencouragement -- but do all with patience and with care to instruct.	2 predica la parola, insisti a tempo opportuno ed anche non opportuno, riprendi, esorta, sgrida con tutta la pazienza e la dottrina;
3 The time is sure to come when people wil not accept sound teaching, but their ears wil be itching foranything new and they wil col ect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes;	3 perchè verrà tempo in cui la gente non potrà sopportare la sana dottrina, ma per assecondare le proprie passioni e per prurito di sentire, si creerà una folla di maestri
4 and then they will shut their ears to the truth and wil turn to myths.	4 ma non vorranno ascoltare la verità e andran dietro a favole.
5 But you must keep steady al the time; put up with suffering; do the work of preaching the gospel; fulfilthe service asked of you.	5 Ma tu veglia sopra tute te le cose, sopporta le afflizioni; fai opera d'evangelista, ad empi i doveri del tuo ministero: sii temperante.
6 As for me, my life is already being poured away as a libation, and the time has come for me to depart.	6 In quanto a me son già offerto in libazione e il tempo del mio discioglimento è vicino.
7 I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith;	7 Ho combattuto la buona battaglia, son giunto al termine della mia corsa, ho conservato la fede
8 al there is to come for me now is the crown of uprightness which the Lord, the upright judge, wil give tome on that Day; and not only to me but to al those who have longed for his appearing.	8 e non mi resta che ricevere la corona di giustizia, che mi darà in quel giorno il Signore, giusto giudice, e non solo a me, ma anche a quelli che desiderano la sua venuta. Cerca di venir presto da me;
9 Make every effort to come and see me as soon as you can.	9 perchè Dema mi ha abbandonato per amor di questo mondo e se n'è andato a Tessalonica.
10 As it is, Demas has deserted me for love of this life and gone to Thessalonica, Crescens has gone toGalatia and Titus to Dalmatia;	10 Crescente è andato in Galazia, Tito in Dalmazia.
11 only Luke is with me. Bring Mark with you; I find him a useful helper in my work.	11 Luca solo è con me. Prendi Marco e conducilo teco perchè mi è molto utile pel ministero.

14 Alexander the coppersmith has done me a lot of harm; the Lord wil repay him as his deeds deserve.	14 Alessandro il ramaio, mi ha fatto molti mali: lo ricompenserà il Signore secondo le sue opere.
15 Be on your guard against him yourself, because he has been bitterly contesting everything that we say.	15 Ma anche tu guardatene perchè si è fortemente opposto alle nostre parole.
16 The first time I had to present my defence, no one came into court to support me. Every one of themdeserted me -- may they not be held accountable for it.	16 Nella mia prima difesa nessuno fu per me; ma tutti mi abbandonarono. Non sia loro imputato!
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me power, so that through me the message might be ful yproclaimed for al the gentiles to hear; and so I was saved from the lion's mouth.	17 Ma il Signore m'ha assistito e mi ha confortato, affinchè per opera mia si compia la predicazione e l'odano tutte le Genti, e sono stato liberato « dalla bocca del Leone ».
18 The Lord will rescue me from all evil attempts on me, and bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Tohim be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 Il Signore mi libererà da ogni male e mi salverà nel suo celeste regno. A lui gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Così sia.
19 Greetings to Prisca and Aquila, and the family of Onesiphorus.	19 Saluta Prisca e Aquila e la casa di Onesiforo.
