2 Timothy 4

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 Before God and before Christ Jesus who is to be judge of the living and the dead, I charge you, in thename of his appearing and of his kingdom:	1 לכן אני מעיד בך נגד האלהים ונגד אדנינו ישוע המשיח הבא לשפט את החיים ואת המתים בהופעתו ובמלכותו
2 proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, giveencouragement -- but do all with patience and with care to instruct.	2 הכרז את הדבר והתמד בין בעתו בין שלא בעתו הוכח וגער והזהר בכל ארך רוח והוראה
3 The time is sure to come when people wil not accept sound teaching, but their ears wil be itching foranything new and they wil col ect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes;	3 כי בוא תבא העת אשר לא יכילו את הלקח הבריא כי אם כאות נפשם יקבצו להם מורים לשעשעי אזנים
4 and then they will shut their ears to the truth and wil turn to myths.	4 ויטו אזניהם מן האמת ויפנו אל ההגדות
5 But you must keep steady al the time; put up with suffering; do the work of preaching the gospel; fulfilthe service asked of you.	5 אבל אתה היה ער בכל סבל הרעות ועשה מלאכת המבשר ומלא את שרותך
6 As for me, my life is already being poured away as a libation, and the time has come for me to depart.	6 כי עתה זה אסך נסך ועת פטירתי הגיעה
7 I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith;	7 המלחמה הטובה נלחמתי את המרוצה השלמתי את האמונה שמרתי
8 al there is to come for me now is the crown of uprightness which the Lord, the upright judge, wil give tome on that Day; and not only to me but to al those who have longed for his appearing.	8 ומעתה שמור לי כתר הצדקה אשר ביום ההוא יתננו לי האדון השפט הצדיק ולא לי לבדי כי גם לכל אהבי הופעתו
9 Make every effort to come and see me as soon as you can.	9 חושה לבוא אלי במהרה
10 As it is, Demas has deserted me for love of this life and gone to Thessalonica, Crescens has gone toGalatia and Titus to Dalmatia;	10 כי דימס עזבני באהבתו את העולם הזה וילך לו לתסלוניקי וקריסקיס הלך לגלטיא וטיטוס לדלמטיא
11 only Luke is with me. Bring Mark with you; I find him a useful helper in my work.	11 ולוקס הוא לבדו עמדי קח את מרקוס והביאהו אתך כי יועיל לי למאד לעבודה
12 I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus.	12 את טוכיקוס שלחתי לאפסוס
13 When you come, bring the cloak I left with Carpus in Troas, and the scrol s, especially the parchmentones.	13 את המטפחת שהנחתי בטרואס אצל קרפוס הביאהו אתך בבואך ואף את הספרים ובפרט את המגלות של קלף
14 Alexander the coppersmith has done me a lot of harm; the Lord wil repay him as his deeds deserve.	14 אלכסנדר חרש הנחשת עשה לי רעות רבות ישלם לו יהוה כמעשיו
15 Be on your guard against him yourself, because he has been bitterly contesting everything that we say.	15 וגם אתה השמר לך ממנו כי מרו מרה את דברינו
16 The first time I had to present my defence, no one came into court to support me. Every one of themdeserted me -- may they not be held accountable for it.	16 בהתנצלותי הראשונה לא היה איש לעזרני כי כלם עזבוני אל יחשב להם עון
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me power, so that through me the message might be ful yproclaimed for al the gentiles to hear; and so I was saved from the lion's mouth.	17 אבל האדון הוא עזרני וחזקני למען תשלם על ידי הבשורה וישמעוה כל הגוים ואנצל מפי אריה
18 The Lord will rescue me from all evil attempts on me, and bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Tohim be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 ויצילני האדון מכל מעשה רע ויושיעני אל מלכותו שבשמים לו הכבוד לעולמי עולמים אמן
19 Greetings to Prisca and Aquila, and the family of Onesiphorus.	19 שאל לשלום פריסקה ועקילס ובית אניסיפורוס
20 Erastus stayed behind at Corinth, and I left Trophimus il at Miletus.	20 ארסטוס נשאר בקורנתוס ואת טרופימוס הנחתי חולה במילטוס
