2 Timothy 4

1 Before God and before Christ Jesus who is to be judge of the living and the dead, I charge you, in thename of his appearing and of his kingdom:	1 - Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Cristo Gesù, che deve giudicare i vivi e i morti, nel nome della sua apparizione e del suo regno,
2 proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, giveencouragement -- but do all with patience and with care to instruct.	2 fatti araldo della parola divina, insisti a tempo opportuno e anche non opportuno, confuta, sgrida, esorta, con grande pazienza e voglia d'insegnare.
3 The time is sure to come when people wil not accept sound teaching, but their ears wil be itching foranything new and they wil col ect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes;	3 Poichè vi sarà un tempo che non sopporteranno la sana dottrina, ma secondo le proprie passioni, per prurito di orecchio, faran sì che si affollino i maestri;
4 and then they will shut their ears to the truth and wil turn to myths.	4 ma dalla verità ritrarranno l'orecchio per voltarsi alle favole.
5 But you must keep steady al the time; put up with suffering; do the work of preaching the gospel; fulfilthe service asked of you.	5 Tu sii vigile in ogni cosa, pronto a soffrire, e a far opera di evangelista, adempi i doveri del tuo ministero.
6 As for me, my life is already being poured away as a libation, and the time has come for me to depart.	6 Quanto a me, già sono offerto in libagione, e il tempo del mio discioglimento è imminente.
7 I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith;	7 Ho combattuto il buon combattimento, ho compiuto la mia carriera, ho conservato la fede;
8 al there is to come for me now is the crown of uprightness which the Lord, the upright judge, wil give tome on that Day; and not only to me but to al those who have longed for his appearing.	8 quel che resta è pronta per me la corona della giustizia, che darà a me in quel giorno il Signore, il giusto giudice, e non solo a me ma a tutti quelli che amano la sua venuta. 9 Make every effort to come and see me as soon as you can.	9 poichè Demade mi ha lasciato, per amore di questo secolo, e se n'è andato a Tessalonica.
10 As it is, Demas has deserted me for love of this life and gone to Thessalonica, Crescens has gone toGalatia and Titus to Dalmatia;	10 Crescente è andato in Galazia e Tito in Dalmazia;
11 only Luke is with me. Bring Mark with you; I find him a useful helper in my work.	11 solo rimane Luca con me. Prendi teco Marco e menalo con te, poichè mi è molto utile pel ministero.

13 When you come, bring the cloak I left with Carpus in Troas, and the scrol s, especially the parchmentones.	13 Il mantello che lasciai a Troade presso Carpo, venendo portamelo, e anche i libri, specialmente le pergamene.
14 Alexander the coppersmith has done me a lot of harm; the Lord wil repay him as his deeds deserve.	14 Alessandro il ramaio, mi ha fatto del male assai; lo retribuirà il Signore secondo le sue opere.
15 Be on your guard against him yourself, because he has been bitterly contesting everything that we say.	15 Guardatene anche tu perchè troppo violentemente si è opposto alle nostre parole.
16 The first time I had to present my defence, no one came into court to support me. Every one of themdeserted me -- may they not be held accountable for it.	16 Nella mia prima difesa nessuno mi è stato appresso, ma tutti mi abbandonarono; che non sia loro imputato!
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me power, so that through me the message might be ful yproclaimed for al the gentiles to hear; and so I was saved from the lion's mouth.	17 Ma il Signore m'assistè e mi diè forza affinchè per mio mezzo fosse compiuta la predicazione e l'odano tutte le Genti, e fui liberato dalla bocca del leone.
18 The Lord will rescue me from all evil attempts on me, and bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Tohim be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 E mi libererà il Signore da ogni opera malvagia, e mi salverà nel suo regno celeste; a lui gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.
